Title: Sonic
Post by: Puff Daddy on June 23, 2006, 09:28:19 AM
I was reading about the Sonic games for 360 and PS3, and it stated about three playable characters: Sonic, Shadow, and the newest Silver the Hedgehog.

I was wondering if anyone has news on the Wii's Sonic...I know its storyline is about an Arabian book coming apart and Sonic has to rescue the pages....sounds gay....

The 360 and PS3 look like they are getting the better deal as for a storyline. It stick to the basics, Sonic meets princess, princess kidnapped by Robotnik/Dr.Eggman, Sonic rescue. But furthermore, I am curious....will Silver be on the Wii? I saw pictures of him, he looks like Sonic but with a different hairstyle, more chest hair (which is a definite turn-on, ladies love the chest hair), and the mofo glows. I want to play Silver in the Wii's game just knowing that he's a glowing hedgehog...

So was wondering if anyone had any details on the Wii's Sonic game....

That's true, say no to all these modern heroes. Sonic and Knuckles and nobody else! :)

Tails is alright when he doesn't talk, in my opinion. I don't know that much about the history of Sonic, though. ?:(

i used to watch the Sonic TV show :D and read the comics :D

it would be cool if sonic was in brawl, to either have a clone of knuckles, or maybe have sonics costumes be sonic, knuckles, shadow, silver, yellow sonic?

You deserve to be shot.

Knuckles is an enchenda, not a hedgehog. The yellow Sonic is Super Sonic, he appeared in Sonic 2...because Super Samari or whatever the heck they were Dragon Ball Z has just been aired on that show, Sonic ripped em off....by collecting all the chaos emeralds, and using the power of the rings he collects, Sonic turns into Super Sonic. This is a power exclusively used by Sonic and no other character....

until Shadow came along, he can use the chaos emeralds to freeze time...this power is known as Chaos Control...Shadow also turns yellow in his Chaos Control form (his rings on his wrists and ankles also come off), like Sonic in Super Sonic form.

Silver.....now Silver...I thought could be an interesting addition. Seeing as Sonic is all good but with attitude, Shadow is all mysterious emo-fag with a lot of power, Silver....a glowing hedgehog....what is he?

The Sonic series is what got me into games, and its been dieing lately...its Sonic's 15th anniversary...I want to see something good come about of it now.

Silver... sounds... pretty gay, if they're just throwing him in there. I didn't really approve of Shadow's game, or of him even, but I'm pretty much against the addition of more characters in the crazy Sonic universe.

I don't mind this new "Silver" character, just as long as he is not simply another Sonic copy like Shadow was.

I haven't heard anything about the story, but I've heard that it's a lot of fun to play with the Wii controller. So hey, if it's fun that's most of what matters right?

I know, but it would still be pretty cool to play as a different character to Sonic after you have beaten the game- and not just a Sonic clone.

They've added a lot of new characters to the Sonic franchise very recently. I don't really like it. Their are more new characters than their is the core original group. Now there's the bird, and the rabbit, and the cat. Good greif. Sonic, Knuckles, Amy, and Tails were good enough.

It's a shame I never owned a Mega Drive, otherwise I would've been there when it was just the main heroes.  :P

Puffdaddy, Knuckles is an echidna not a enchenda, but anyway, I think the Wii version is going to be the best out of all of the new games because Sonic's all about speed and the wii controller allows for faster gameplay than the other consoles, and also I don't particulary mind about the story because I don't want to play the same story I played sevaral times before in other Sonics.

Knuckles is my favorite character. I always used him in Sonic Advance, which is a very fun game despite having a cheesy story. The bad guy is turning animals into machines? Destroy the machines and save the animals! But it didn't really matter I really enjoyed it. It had some great graphics and awesome speed, so if this one has that with or without a good story I think it'll still be fun.

Same difference...just like my horrible misspelling of 'denies,' or denis.

It's a great story. Take a look at the symbolic interaction. Man vs animal, nature vs machine...with nature always winning due to its God given abilities. Not only that, but Dr. Robotnik is supposedly to represent all evil, and all carnage. In Sonic Heroes, Robotnik/Eggman is a "romanticist, a feminist, and a self-professed gentleman." It's odd, that Eggman tends to be everything a woman would want...thus deeming women to be evil, as if it has Bibical roots such as Eve giving the foribidden fruit to Adam, and thus getting mankind kicked out of Paradise. Eggman is modern day Eve. Brilliant!

And this isn't the only great video game that has crap in it like this. Halo is popular....think about it. Covenant versus Master Chief, God/Nature vs Man-made....Man destroys God/Nature.

I have yet to unravel the mysteries to Pokemon.

You know, I've never really thought of it that way, but now that you mention it, it seems very likely that there could indeed be a deeper philosophical reference throughout the story that I once thought was lacking and cliche.

And you're the fruit who uses an '8' and capital 'o' to express himself? Great job...

ive been waiting for this since the dreamcast days.

I'm guessing your talking about the symbolism crap. Meh? Who knows...simple fairy tale stories like 'Alice In Wonderland' are actually suppose to be symbolic to anarchy and throwing over a government. Some people even look at the Bible, a story such as Cain and Abel....seeing it that Cain (farmer) and Abel (shepard), were symbols of two different cultures clashing and battling such as royal versus urban. Some video games tend to have an underlying message...wether if they were meant to or not, it appears that Sonic does: man vs nature.

But don't take it too far...afterall, there isn't much symbolism in the Grand Theft Auto series. But if you want to look at games as a whole, than GTA:SA would count...such as, the most used main character is typically a white, male (66% of the GTA series on PS2 confirms this).
