Wii-volution

Okay well I got a Wii for Christmas and 2 days later it broke... the Gamecube disc got stuck (Wii dropped, small fall). I return it to the store to get fix they tell me it will be done in 2 weeks. I'm in Belgium so I think they gave it to Nintendo Germany. Well just today more than 3 weeks... about 6 weeks later the store tells me i can come pick it up... I'm not there so I have someone else doing it for me and when the friend gets there the store said it's not fixed ... they couldn't fix it (AFTER 6 WEEKS of WAITING!) ... So not only they didn't fix it but they dont give me a replacement i just get the CASH back lol... and the game isn't returned or refunded. So this sucks, Nintendo and that store suck... Nintendo could have giving me another Wii especially that you can't find them still and now I got to go hunting for a Wii and I worked so hard to get one for Xmas.


So  NINTENDO CUSTOMER SERVICE IN EUROPE SUCKS and
DON"T DROP YOUR WII WITH A GAMECUBE DISC OR ITS BROKEN FOREVER!

If your system broke it is your fault.  I got mine on launch day and I haven't had a single problem. :em-25:

You went through the store to try to get your Wii fixed (and its not certain that it was ever sent to Nintendo). Look in the manual and give Nintendo a call and talk to them and see if Nintendo can help you at all....word of advice: don't tell them that you were using it as a football. Nintendo has a reputation of having good customer service so give them a call and be honest about the whole situation, just exclude the part about the Wii dropping. Hope it works out for you.

I'm so sorry to hear that, DJ Zilla.  You must be very disappointed to have waited so long already, and now you just have cash back instead of a working Wii.
Puff Daddy has a good idea about calling Nintendo.  I think I would do anything to try to get a Wii back in my house.

Hey lol well first of all I didn't break it... its my 6 years old cousin who pulled the NON-wireless controller lol...

I contacted Nintendo explained what happened and they told me not a problem that they are sending the entire box back with a new Console... now whats wack is that the stupid store refunded even though they knew it was coming back!!!!! So since I'm not there to do it myself (I'm in another country for 2 weeks) ... I have other people doing it for me... so I forwarded them the email and told them to go to the store give the money back to them and show the store the email that our console is going to be back...

Ends up the store doesn't want to deal with it and made it sound that the refund was the only solution ... so bottom line the store customer service sucks and not nintendo... I wrote an e-mail that was kind of immature to Nintendo because I was mad but they responded very nicely and even called the person... well the store doesn't want to do it even though Nintendo is sending my NINTENDO back to the store with a new console lol... the store said that I just have to go and come when they have it for sale... lol... oh well... I have to call and find out whats new but this is so wack...

Well, now I want to join in on the Nintendo bashing. If you haven't read my Mario 8 post....Mario 8 has been pushed back from March 5th to June 1st....

That sucks. Nintendo promised no shortage of new games out and well....there sure is a shortage now. And reason is because Nintendo wasn't completely ready at launch due to the lack of online gameplay and not having a fully operating online browser. And due to this, games are pushing themselves back to have online content/gameplay or at least thats my hunch. Because on June 1st, MP3: Corruption, SSBB, Fire Emblem, and many other games are being released with Mario Party 8. This is good news in the sense as we kind of know when to expect online gameplay, however this is bad news because it is creating a shortage of games and instead we are stuck with playing Barnyard. Thanks Nintendo...bunch of dickwads.

I wouldn't be checking on Gamestop's website. GameStop is just a store, not an actual company that knows the dates for a game. Most likely, MP3, SSBB, and other games like that will not be out until holiday season (in order to compete with other titles such as Halo 3 and MGS).

But this is kind of off subject, so I'll put in my 2 cents. As everyone has said, you should have just called Nintendo. I've done it plenty of times, and they were always nice, cheerful and always had a solution for my problems. Also, I wouldn't buy from that store anymore, unless it's your only place to buy electronics.

Off topic? The topic is: Nintendo sucks....can't get more blatant than that. And I'm saying Nintendo sucks for a few reasons. Yes, I hear you on Gamestop not being the most straight up reliable source. Got ya. Check one off the list. But it does confirm that shit is being pushed back, even shit that was suppose to come out in two weeks. Nintendo said there would be NO SHORTAGE OF GAMES AT LAUNCH. Well now there is a shortage. And its because Nintendo wasn't fully prepared at launch. That blows.

If Nintendo wants to pushed back one or two big name games to compete with the bull crap of Halo 3 and Metal Gear....fine, I have no problem for waiting for SSBB or Metroid...actually I have no problem waiting for Metroid since I probably won't get that game but thats besides the point. Point being, they promised no shortage of games and now their pushing their whole library of games to be released back. And in return....we have Wii Sports and one other game to play (for most of us, that other game is Zelda). You can't launch a system with no games.

I completely agree with that Puff. That has made me a little disappointed and the fact that there is still no WFC, Nintendo WiFi Connection, for any titles. I can understand they didn't want to release their next gen console last and then have to play catch-up but when they announce a games release date, then end up pushing it back over and over until it's a year later than expected, is ridiculous.

never EVER look at the gamestop website to see when games are coming. up untill a few months ago they had sonic wildfire and sonic and the secret rings as two different games. i work there so i know they just put a placeholder date so people can preorder. heck! we dont even know when halo 3 is officially coming out (november is all we know) but we are still taking preorders for it. never ever trust the gamestop website for dates..... or even title names for that matter lol.

never ever get a job there.... trust me..... you have to get a set amount of pre orders and subscriptions or get written up and crap like that. the company truly hates their employees. they probably think that people enjoy working at a game store so much they can crap all over the employees without a word. they can somehow fit a literal turd into every sentence they speak and its quite amazing how they manage to do so. yeah ill be quitting for another job ASAP. 5.95 an hour does not pay my bills or make up for the fact the whole company ladder is full of douchebags.

Gamestop and Ebgames are exactly the same thing. Their sites are run by the same people. Company's too.

I agree with what Puff had said on the last page. The only thing is is that Nintendo actually told us that MP3 wasn't going to be released until Spring, then they pushed it back until Summer, then finally Winter. This confirmation was made sometime last year, most likely around the Wii launch.

(It was also noted as a Winter release in Nintendo Power, which can be a more reliable source than Gamestop.) The other titles, like Galaxy, were always up in the air on launch dates. Sometimes you'd see it coming out in March, or maybe June.

If Nintendo can't get a set date for their most popular games on their newest system, then what else is there to get for the Wii besides Mario Party 8 in March?

(Which I'm sticking with the March 6th release date until I get confirmation from any store that they aren't getting it on that date.) Like Puff said, Nintendo promised us a good flow of games, but where are they? Right now, over 3/4 of the Wii library is filled with, mostly, sorry for this, shit titles. By shit titles, I mean 3rd Party games. Yes, there are a couple good games, but most of the library is filled with the mediocre titles by Ubisoft which were all just copied games with new control schemes so they could get a quick dollar off an unsuspecting victim.

As of now, I don't care about the third part games because they are mostly terrible or just remakes of games I already played or were just terrible also. If your newest console is the fastest selling console to date, you need to support those consumers and put out good games, and not wait over a year to put out the hit titles that were suspected to be a system-seller.

See, this what I am talking about. The expectations for the Wii has been kicked up a notch. This isn't the Gamecube generation, a console that lacked all respect. This is the Wii. There were promises made and things said. But talk is cheap. Nintendo needs to get its act together fast.

how many times....... METROID PRIME 3 WAS NEVER CONFIRMED FOR WINTER!  only super mario galaxy was confirmed for a winter release! the other games are not set in stone! its more than likely going to be a mid 2007 release for metroid prime 3. nintendo would not release more than two huge titles in the winter.... theyre not that stupid! they delayed wii play because wario ware smooth moves was coming out that month so theyre not gonna release all their huge titles at the end of 2007!

Well we can't follow that Galaxy confirmation from Nintendo until the day it's going to come out. Most likely, seeing as Nintendo has done it with Wii Play, they will push the date back at least two weeks a week before the original launch day for some dumbass reason.

I guess all we can do is stay away from crap Ubisoft titles and any other 3rd party games that all seem to be ports. Nintendo's third-party support is really support. The developers know the console is a hit, so they just rush titles that were for other systems out to make a quick buck. It's said only a handful, or less, of those developers are making any good games.

Nintendo should really step it up for the games, but I'm not complaining that much. I know what titles I should snag and what titles I need to stay far far away from (Cars, Barnyard) and the biggest part about this:

The Wii doesn't only play Wii games.

There are plenty of VC games that offer a lengthy adventure or a really fun experience on the cheap. The Wii has tons of features and some decent channels (some might even be completely random like the Voting) to keep you using it. And I don't know about you guys, but I'm brushing up on Smash Bros as well.

And you gotta give credit when a company actually tries to do something right. Like Ubisoft's Red Steel. I really didn't think the game was that bad, but I guess it's cause everyone says it sucks terribly and I was expecting worse.

Ubisoft did try to make an original, good game for the Wii. I sorta liked the game, but it wasn't that good. My only problem is that Ubisoft went from an original game to just making copies of older games everyone already beat or doesn't care about anymore. They need to focus on a sequel to Red Steel more than making a copy of  Prince of Persia.

Ugh. I'm glad someone else thinks the PoP remake sounds bad. With the Wii controls I can only imagine playing the game for 5 minutes and getting frustrating/bored.

At least the Wii controls make it harder to just port crappy games to the Wii (Splinter Cell anyone?)

ugh... totally. im very sure the ports of spiderman 3 and tmnt are gonna be bad. i hope im wrong but i have a feeling im not. games for the wii should be made for the wii, not just thrown on there by another company wanting to jump into next gen but not actually make a next gen game.

I thought some of the Spiderman games were fun and good. Who knows if they'll take time to work out a good control scheme for the Wii or not? Let's just hope for now that they will.

And as everyone has said on multiple news websites, it's the controls that make or break the games for Wii, and if the developers choose to ignore that, the game will be terrible.

Just wanted to give an update from my original post.... well I incredibly found a Wii in another store lol... so I got one and my bros are just playing day and night! but like I said all of this happened went I wasnt there so I can't wait to get back home next week and play with the Wii!!!!
