1  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / New Dragon Quest Swords Screens. on: December 12, 2006, 07:04:26 PM

src: watch.impress

I'd post new info as well, but there really isn't any. Besides from the obvious that is, like now you have a party with more than one character. Everything else is known (Developed by 8ing, On-rails, Cel Shaded, etc...)

Anyone else looking fowrd to this? I think it look a tad shallow (maybe) but I'm still looking foward to it, I wanna see how this pans out...it's really one of my most-wanted Wii games.

Thoughs/opinions?
2  Nintendo DS / DS - General / Dragon Quest IX Heading To The DS. on: December 12, 2006, 06:56:10 PM

This is crazy, the DS is getting so much support. The Dragon Quest series usually selles around four million coppies per-title. Nintendo's market position has changed drastically in the last 5 years it would seem.

Final Fantasy XII's battle system was el terrible. I love the franchise, but thie game's battle system was near vommit-inducing. At least it had pretty nice graphics.

FFXIII's battle system seems to be in-line with FFXII's...so this is a no buy for me.  Aside from that, the game looks nice--but it's certainly not deserving of the console's $600 price tag.

Edit** Ohh this is Final Fantasy XIII: Emo Edition...horrible art.

lol, the fanboy 'copout' card, cute. This has nothing to do with the product at hand, the adds would be horrid reguardless of product. This wouldn't happen with a sane company though, viral marketting is supposed to be suddle, it's supposed to be seen as consumer activism.  This is an example of failed viral marketting...stop pulling punches, you have no argument aside from, "what ifs" and "well, you mean this...".

If you see nothing wrong with white-ganagstaism then no problem. However, these are a good deal worse than, well, pretty much anything I've ever seen. They're so bad my eyes began watering--it's only comparable to watching dog crap harden.

The site is registered to a marketing company that Sony frequents, that's how we know it's Sony's doing. Don't defend this decision...it just makes you look bad.

Also, companies aren't vocal about viral marketing. Part of viral marketing is consumer activism (well, that's SUPPOSED to be the only part) Sometimes though, companies pay for it because they're product isn't worthy of such.

Click the link below and just read some of the blog entries.

Seriously, why spend money on this crap, Sony? How about taking the money you're spending on horrible marketing schemes and dropping the price on your little abortion of a handheld. Jeez...get a clue.

Atrocious.  :x

Don't be dissin Viva Pinata. The game totally rocks and it's alot of fun. It kind of looks like it's made for a six year old, but upon actually playing it, you'll discover that it's *much* too deep. Really fun and one of my favorite 360 games, right up there with Gears Of War, and GRAW.
9  Off-Topic / The Lounge / Re: Fast Food on: December 09, 2006, 07:31:35 PM
About a year and a half ago I saw the movie Supersize Me--I haven't touched fast food since then. Low quality crap is what it is. Why should I pay $2 for an unhealthy cheeseburger when I can buy a box of boca burgers (I'm a vegetarian) or a pound of ground beef (for the rest of you) for the same price and it be healthier for you?

I see no point. Everyone should go see the documentary Fast Food Nation--it'll give you a scare.  :-P

However, when I DID eat meat/fast food, I really enjoyed Chick-Fil-A...if only for their sweet tea and waffle fries.

IGN's report is a tad off, Gears of War outsold Final Fantasy XII by some 150,000 coppies.(One million to 850,000) It's a shame that they didn't post the hardware numbers either.

The DS is at 920k
The GBA at 640k
The Wii at 480k
The GCN at 60k

Really great numbers for Nintendo all around. Call Of Duty 3 sold 50k and Zelda sold 412k, so scale the est of the sales from there. Wink

Click that for where I bought it. 30in, 1080i, 16:9 aspect ratio...etc. In terms of quality, it's about a 7/10--real nice value (Less than $500) But it's not the best HDTV on the market. Still great price for what you're getting.

Nope, NeoGAF is a gaming-forum. It's really a great forum filled with lots of industry insiders. (Jaffe posts there!) In addition to having insiders a few members there have access to NPD sales data and such. The guy that revealed Bonk's adventure sales was probably Kobun Heat considering it was his thread. (Or it might have been the guy that works at Hundson that posts there...not really sure.)
14  Nintendo Wii / Game Chat / Games You 'Wiish' For? on: December 07, 2006, 11:06:01 PM
I searched the last 5 pages, and I was surprised to find that there was no topic for this already. So, here it goes!

There are always going to be game that we wished were on our personal system of choice, same goes with the Wii! What games would you like to be fitted to the Wii? (Any ideas welcome, but please post a short bit as to why you think the particular game you chose would suit the Wii well)

Guess I'll go first...
My most wanted game series for the Wii would have to be the Jet Grind Radio series. The original was the best game released on the Dreamcast, and the Xbox sequel wasn't that bad either. I think the series would be a great return-to-form for the Wii, because the grafitti motions could be mapped for the Wiimote's motion sensing.

As you can see from the screen, Wiimote 'spraying' would be a pretty neat idea. The rest of the game (movement: jumping, tricks, getting police off you) could all be assigned to the analog attachment.
15  Nintendo Wii / Game Chat / Re: Raid Over The River on: December 08, 2006, 07:30:55 PM
I have a hard time believing this game (along with Sadness) is actually coming. I can see Nibris making the DS version of Raid Over the River, considering a handheld shooter isn't exactly a huge endeavor. Console games are a completely diffierent playing field--big budgets, more time/manpower, etc...

If Nibris is *actually making these games then more power to them, but until I see some tangible evidence of their work (no, the video they released of ROtR DS isn't real) then I'll remain skeptical. I do hope that they make something though, more indie developers = more diverse lineup.
