1  Nintendo Wii / Game Chat / Re:Metroid 3: Friend Vouchers on: September 10, 2007, 09:57:19 PM
Pretty good game so far -

Ramps up fairly well and doesn't throw too much too soon at us gamers who are starting to slow down in the \"hand-eye\" coordination department. Tongue

Code: 3802-1105-8489-9274

One friend credit available.

On the menu screen after choosing your profile;

Hold the (-) and (+) buttons,
Press (D-Pad) Left, then Right, the (1), (2) x2, then (1) again.

You should get a confirmation on the top of the screen;
"All missions and aircraft unlocked".

You also get all the paint jobs including Air Marshall.

3  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Re: eSol and the Wii internal code. on: December 30, 2006, 08:47:17 PM
Again, I'm not a tech head but here's what I found with a quick search;

http://www.usb-2-0.com/what-is-usb-2-0.html

http://www.acomdata.com/customer_support/2163-support.html

http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/peripherals/hp-releases-the-hd100-first-usb-20-hddvd-drive-204345.php

Or am I reading too much into this?
4  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / eSol and the Wii internal code. on: December 30, 2006, 05:48:45 PM
I read the inside cover of the system manual and saw a company name of “eSol”. After a quick yahoo search found this:

http://www.esol.co.jp/english/embedded/lineup.html

Alright you tech heads correct me if I’m off base but don’t we need the USB/Device stack as part of the Wii internal code in order to to hook up a USB 2.0 compatible HD? And after a quick search around the ‘net they’re tons o’ them!

Pros: Mass storage space for pictures (as patterns for Animal Crossing:Wii), music (for the radios in AC:Wii), video clips (for the TV sets in AC:Wii) {“Enough already with the AC:Wii!” “What? Why?” “They get the point! Move on!” “<sigh> Okay, I was just thinking it would be fun to see Rodeo and Tipper watching Professional Bull Riding and rooting for the bull!  :-D ” “Aaargh!” “Alright, alright!”}. And save files, patches, and updates for the dreaded “episodic” games (not to mention updating the in-game ads <grrrr>).

Cons: “Someone” is going to figure out how to install an .exe and play M.A.M.E., run emulators, etc. Tho’ couldn’t there be a way to block running .exe’s? Downloading of larger games (yes, I put this here as I consider the huge number of hours downloading the larger games without any semblance of multitasking save the picture-in-picture feature on the TV set). “Another” way to spend money on a console (tho’ this would pull double duty on the PC provided the Wii is using PR/File2 (?)). Don’t really see any immediate threat of malicious code but…. <sigh>.

The Pr/MTP looks promising but with the right HD I’m just moving the HD from my PC to my Wii anyway.

Anything else from the list we need? Or maybe something else that will fit into the Wii’s system memory (i.e. small, compact)?

Overall this browser feels much like the first gen web browsers. As this is first gen and a test we`ll need to reserve final judgement, but not too shabby.  -
