1696  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Re: 40 SSBB Characters, 3 depart on: June 10, 2006, 11:03:15 PM
I had seen a list of characters that were being considered for the game, but I didn't bookmark the page and now it is long lost in the internet archives. I was using ask.com as a quick, simple search so maybe you could see what jeeves is up to and find it that way --- after all if i found it there, it should still be there somewhere.

I think I heard Bowser Jr. And I know there was a gorcery list of many others as well, many that I didn't know. But then again, I was never a real big Nintendo fan until recently so I do lack some knowledge on Nintendo's older games.

Haha...

The only reason I don't want to Soul Caliber is because they already have a game to fight on. I want to have an entirely unique game, that includes mainly action/adventure, platforming game characters beating up on one another. That's what makes Super Smash Bros so unique. Where else could you find the almighty Jigglypuff opening a can of whoop ass on Link?

Thats pretty good. I'd still rather see the Ice Climbers killed.

E3 is just getting better and better. For many, Nintendo ignoring the new incarnation of Smash Bros. during their press conference was bad news - where had the title gone? Would it still make launch? These questions have now been answered.

Nintendo have held an after-hours press conference where the game was shown off in trailer form. Titled Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the game will feature many playable characters, with Mario, Kirby, Pikachu and Link all confirmed as returning. Additionally, Wario (complete with fart-attack), Pit from Kid Icarus, a suit-less Samus, Metaknight from Kirby and Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid were all confirmed to be playable. That's right, Snake - complete with cardboard box to hide in (the trailer featured him actually climbing out of the box and saying "It's showtime!" Even the Nintendogs will feature, as a new weapon that will see a cute puppy jump up to obscure your opponents view of the screen!

Directed by series creator Masahiro Sakurai, the title will feature combat using a classic, GameCube style, as well as via new motion-sensitive gameplay. To confirm - you'll be able to play this with, and without motion sensitive controls.

Robust single-player, multi-player and online modes are promised, along with plenty more characters. Apparently Snake was included after Hideo Kojima himself practically "begged" the character was inlcuded in Smash Bros. Melee. Sonic was suggested as a character that could appear in the game as well, to which Shigeru Miyamoto responded that: There are probably possibilities for other third parties as well, and it maybe that even know there are corporate discussions going on about including some of these other characters."

Unfortunately, Nintendo confirmed the game has slipped to a 2007 release date, though Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will be a launch title instead! Keep it locked to R-E for the latest!

There's some more information on Super Smash Bros. Brawl. One of my first posts stated that my first love was the Sega (Genesis), and frankly I would greet Sonic with open arms to Super Smash Brothers. Not only that, but all those internet videos that featured Mario VS Sonic would finally become a reality. I hope Sonic does come in...it would be my new addiction, just like when I was 13 and watched the censored Girls Gone Wild infommercials because I thought it was awesome porn.

I'm just curious. Did anyone like the Ice Climbers? Or at least, was anyone efficient at using them? And by efficient, I mean relatively good enough to win several matches with.

40 SSBB Characters?
Sakurai stated he wants a roster 40 deep, with 1-2 more non-Nintendo characters.

"...We've also, unfortunately, learned of three current characters that will not be returning: The Ice Climbers, Mr. Game & Watch, and Young Link have no home in SSBB. We don't know who exactly will take their place just yet, but Sakurai stated he wants a roster 40 deep, with 1-2 more non-Nintendo characters."
I wonder who the characters will be....

I think I was looking through one of those wiibreeding.com sites or something, and started punching in letters in a search and this came up. I'm sure most of you may have heard this tid-bit already, seeing as many of you seemed to have been following the Wii news longer than I have. But, I wanted to create this post as a celebration. I was not fortunate enough to own a Gamecube, but I was still able to play Super Smash Melee. And immedietely after picking up the controller, I developed a pure hatred for the Ice Climbers for many reasons.

1) They're fat and not annoying. I hate their eery smiles.
2) They're clothing looks as if it was picked out by one of the guys from 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy'
3) Little wooden mallets? Sure, this was considered a threat to 8-bit Pterodactyls that flew around poorly constructed mountains that were easily demolished by those might little wooden mallets. But wooden mallets? You got to be kidding me.
4) One is a boy, the other a girl. And they are in complete cooperation. This is unlikely. Seeing as man has been at war with woman since the dawn of age, clubbing her over the head and dragging her back to his domain so that she may make him pancakes.

Until the Ice Climers dual wield flame throwers, I'm glad to see them say good-bye to SSBB. Man....I hate them so much.
1701  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Re: What color Wii will you get? on: September 10, 2006, 10:56:54 AM
I think if I get white, I'm going to put blue pinstripes on it. Silver is meh, red is all right so is blue, the green is a no-no unless you like looking at a pile of crap.

Like I said before, the white and the black make that blue light pop. That shit is what's good. The black is old for me. I have a PS2 which in America comes in one color (unless modified/customized). So to hell with black, but I know the abuse this thing might have to withstand and white might show scratches easier. Thus.....maybe white and black may be wrong for me. I was thinking going with the red, but my room is green....I'll look like christmas if I do that, but I love red? Maybe some blue pinstripes on that....aw to hell with it. Go with the white. It's sexy.

i heard that they were only going to release black and white in north america....

...diesn't affect me though....still lovin' the white
1703  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Re: What color Wii will you get? on: June 07, 2006, 10:44:41 PM
I was thinking about putting some 34s on the side. Of course, they got to be Daytons. And pehaps a full hydraulic system. The amp and bass system is not optional, its mandatory. You got to keep it rollin' low. It's all about how low you can go, and how high you can bounce that low ridin' wii machine.

White with pinstripes.
1704  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Re: What color Wii will you get? on: June 07, 2006, 12:57:55 PM
Silver or white. Sure the black is nice, but my black PS2 is old and black is just a general color. The silver and white just make that blue gleam brighter.

I think we can't just count out Sony right now, because Microsoft and Sony are what appeals to America as of now. Sony appeals to the world more so the Microsoft at this moment, because of the failures of the beginning days of Xbox. However, Microsoft has cleaned up and it will be a serious contender in the next year.

I won't count out Sony, because for a long time they had the 'boomerang' controller, but changed it at E3 when they realesed the final controller which will (like the Wii-mote) sense motion, but only forward, back, up, down, left, right. But due to this added feature, they removed the rumble feature in the controller which I see as a downner because that little rumble often serves a large purpose in most games. Sony didn't do well at E3, but that just be a sign for the PS3 to change more and many people have complained of the price, but I still see people reserving PS3s at EB. So there is a possibility to change, Sony does listen. But Sony is also relying on UMDs becoming popular --- and if they do not, then good bye PS3.

At E3, Nintendo was marvelous and I think it built a lot of good hype up. Hardcore gamers and loyal nintendo fans are looking forward to it, but the Wii still has a lot to prove since its appearance in not traditional and to many, it is very unorthodox to use a tv remote controller as the game console's controller.

Only the future will tell...but right now, Nintendo has beaten PS3 at E3. And some may argue outdid Xbox 360 as well, but I know a lot of kids who love their 360 and are spreading the news...while I tell them I'm going to buy a Wii, and they just look at me with a blank face, blink their eyes several times, and break out into laughter at my 'stupidity.'

Nintendo needs to earn back its reputation. Hopefully, the Wii can do it for Nintendo.
1708  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Re: The Wii friends system... on: June 10, 2006, 12:37:49 AM
I hope the Wii's online feature will be free. PS2's was free, but it was crap. Xbox cost money and it was great. But the thing with Nintendo is that it thinks of the future.

I hope they keep it free. It is only a game. And its always fun to play with others, and I shouldn't be charged to play with others or to make friends. I believe paying to have a "friendship" with someone is called prostitution.

I want it F-R-E-E. The DS has WiFi connection, and thats free. Why not cram that into the Wii? If it can fit in my pocket, I'm sure it can fit into the Wii....
1709  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Re: The Wii friends system... on: June 07, 2006, 02:19:07 PM
Thanks Disaster!

I come to this site searching for more answers to my gaming addiction problem and what next generation game console will best comfort my disturbing habits of hours upon hours of gaming. Therefore, this site pretty much serves me as my information center.

Anyways, Nintendo always seems to know what its doing unless that is if you don't own a Nintendo. Then it just appears that Nintendo is trying to be weird. For example, when I first saw the GC controller, I thought Nintendo was playing an enormous joke on the world. Until I got the dumb preschool looking controller in my hand and decided that it was the best controller to date, and that the odd shaped buttons allowed for easy gameplay (with the exception of the hidden Z). Moral to the story: Nintendo knows what its doing, even if it doesn't appear that way. I hope this trend continues on with the Wii's internet connection.
1710  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Re: The Wii friends system... on: June 06, 2006, 03:48:36 PM
I know the 360 allows you to play games offline, but talk (via headset) to friends online while playing that game. I think that is a neat idea, and little tid bits like this should be incorporated. Nintendo seems to know what its doing, however this would be Nintendo's first home console that will go online....right? I don't know much about the Gamecube, so correct me if I'm wrong....but if this is the first, then there could be problems. Sony's first online network was free but horrible. Microsoft's was awesome, but cost big bucks (then again a computer company should get this right). It'll be interesting to say the least.

Does anyone know if Nintendo is planning on keeping the idea of being able to play DS or Advance Games or just and Gameboy game on the Wii? Or at least being able to have games transfer over, kinda like that one Zelda game....?
