the c-buttons on the 64 super smash brothers was another jump button, and i liked it, and its mostly why i wasnt so hot about the gc version because you HAD to use the analog stick to jump. grrrrrrr.

yeah but x and y are not really in that good of reach on the good old cube. i personally thought the giant a button was one of the dumbest ideas ever for a controller. not including the atari jaguar number pad crap. that my friends was the WORST controller EVER. only thing to give it any competition is the phillips cd-i which wasnt far off from it. if anyone who had a hand in the atari jaguar doesnt have a bird sitting on their lips constantly crapping in their mouths, there is no justice in this world. as we know, there is usually no justice in this world. the only good game on that system was attack of the mutant penguins. as much as theyd like us to believe it, everyone could look at the atari jaguar in action and see that it isnt 64 bits. wellll maybe it is. but 60 of those bits are being used to take a dump on your face for buying something so stupid. gunpei's virtual boy may have flopped badly but it didnt drop like the jaguar did. poor gunpei......

i havent heard "soon", but it is supposed to be coming out for the wii. personally they better have two things going on for this game to be bought, FIRSTLY it cant cost 50 bucks. thats just a freaking rip off.  SECONDLY it better be a lot more complex than the one you play online. ive heard the wii will be getting an original game channel and that it may come out on there. IMHO they better have something more than the simple crap we see online on websites or ill be skipping that one.......not even sure why this is even coming for the wii.

Yeah... in Super Smash Bros. on N64, C-buttons jumped. Since the C-stick replaces the C-buttons in the N64 VC games now (or right analog on the Classic Controller), I can only assume the same for SSB. Since I'm a button-jumper myself, this would be awkward and frustrating.

I understand their logic behind the giant A button on the Gamecube controller, but there was no reason to make it that big. Just a slight annoyance is all, since it's one of the most comfortable controllers to hold in your hands ever. (In my opinion of course Tongue)

I work at a game store, but didn't get my Wii at that store, rather I waited at Best Buy during the second big shipment of Wiis on January 21st, and got the second to last one. This one little kid calls the store I work at EVERY SINGLE DAY to see if we have Wiis. One day, The call went:
Kid: Do you have a Wii?
Me: Yes I do... (pause) What do you need to know about it?
Kid: No, I meant can I buy one?
Me: Oh my, no. We've been sold out for weeks.
Kid: ...BYE

i cannot in any way see the sense in the giant a button. some of the greatest controllers rely on symmetry including the super nes buttons! when you scatter the buttons you destroy the symmetry and the feel of the controller. the only controllers i feel that dodged this problem was the 64 "claw", and the wii-mote. symmetry can be a problem in itself , otherwise the atari jaguars controller wouldve ruled.

The reason the GCube had differend sized, shaped and colored buttons was so that people could tell them apart easilly.  That was Nintendo's first step towards getting the nongamer, but it didn't exacty work...

Exactly. They tried focusing the game around the A button mostly, and B, X, and Y being "sub-buttons." The biggest way this messed me up is A button shoots your gun in Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, where it would make you crawl in the Playstation versions (since X is on the bottom.)

That was their logic behind the thing. It wasn't a brilliant idea by any means, but it didn't break their bank.

HA!!! someone else agrees!!! actually between that and the totally lifeless voice acting thats why i couldnt play mgs the twin snakes. the controls felt off, the game didnt feel corrct in the mgs 2 engine to me, and when you play the voice acting in the twin snakes next to the acting in the original mgs it sounds terrible. noone had an accent, noone put feeling into the role except david hayter, i just didnt feel any emotion. i doubt im alone in that either. ps1 mgs all the way.

It's nowhere near as good a remake as the first Resident Evil on Gamecube.

I also thought it was weird having the action scenes re-directed by the guy who directed the Devil May Cry scenes (his name escapes me now,) even though Kojima produced it. It was pretty cool to see MGS in a different take though, a lot more "HOLY $H!T!!! DID HE JUST DO THAT?" action sequences. The voice acting was off, but at least they re-did everything, instead of just ripping it off the PSX version. It shows they care. Smiley

It was a brilliant idea, but they could have put a lot more thought into it. Oh well.

true dat. i didnt like the fact snake got hammered by the tank shell in the first raven confrontation (leaving no damage AS WELL!) when in the ps1 version he ended up dodging it. that aside silicon knights were the guys behind it as well as eternal darkness. its a shame theyre focusing on the other two consoles this generation....... maybe they will come to their senses sometime in the future.

tecmo bowl is a SHOE-IN. im not so sure that will happen as tecmo and nintendo arent the best of friends. tecmo was sued by nintendo for making bootleg games for the nes. its quite funny actually. thing is they even sold tetris for the nes before they had gotten the license because of massive misscommunication. later they never even got the license to do tetris so the tetris cartridges bearing tecmos name are actually pretty rare and if you find one i would hang on to it. this does bring up a good point though. the vc relies on partners allowing content to be licensed or used by nintendo. alot of companies who promised support for the vc have yet to release ANYTHING and im getting sick and tired of waiting for chrono trigger on the vc lol.
