I have to know if in order for the usb connector to work.. does the computer it is plugged into have to be on?? :? i need to know as soon as i can! I need to stay up all night on the internet channel!!!

The USB connector is a USB -> CAT5 converter which then plugs into a router or switch. You shouldn't have to plug it into a computer at all, just your HUB/Router.

Its the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. Originally for the DS but Wii compatible.

im only familiar with the Wii version. You'll have to see if anyone here has experience with the DS one. I did see this post:

I've looked before but couldnt find much. One post says that it turns off with the computer so I think that it has to be connected to a computer with it's power on. Thanks for the help.

does anyone know if it is possible to burn out a wi-fi connector?  its been plugged to my computer all the time and when i touch it, it is ver hot.  what should i do and is this why i can't get onto the wii shop channel?  please help!!!

Id put it where there's ventilation and plenty of cool air can get to it. If your able to get on the internet, it's probably not the wifi
