Does anyone think that Nintendo should give discounts for VC games for special occasions or even free games to download or maybe a special midnight sale?  I think it would be fun.  Does anyone else agree or disagree with me?

Yeah, like when a big game comes out they could have a special on previous games!Like if SSBB came out they gave you a special voucher that'd net you the original for free until it expired.

You should get free dowloads for the VC games you already have, by giving them your serial # or something. Special occasions, no, why would they do that? They're on a huge roll and aren't going to do a price drop. Plus, the VC games are pretty cheap, why would you want a discount? It's easily affordable.

It would be nice to get a discount on the games, but that would never happen. They are already cheap, $10 at the most, and Nintendo seems to be money-hungry right now, so I wouldn't expect anything.

The only problem is that Nintendo wouldn't be losing any money from the price drop, seeing as it is a virtual item and costs nothing to produce. I highly doubt it took more than 20 minutes to port over the games, seeing as many of them are already on the PC.

Only really popular games are worth paying for them through the VC. Only seen about a million copies of Goldeneye for $5, so I don't see that very fair to make me spend more for a downloaded copy. When in the long run I could just buy the original system and actual copies of the games and come out spending less.

Ah I remember quite a long time ago when NES games were "the" games that were traded in, and I would take their paper and see how much each games price was. Then saying "What?! they want $2.25 for that game? screw that!" then I would be on my way, scrolling down the list for more games to get. Wait a minute, I guess I'm just a cheap arse.
