I hear you on the Animal Crossing's gameplay being ripped off. But with the popularity of The Sims, producers are looking at that kind of gameplay as a cash crop that hasn't been fully tapped yet. Its like Halo....various production companies have tried coming out with the a "halo killer." And even Zelda....games like Dark Cloud and various other titles try to emulate their gameplay to cash in. And its not like games that try to be like others or take that style of gameplay and put a twist to it is all that bad. Capcom's Megaman was created largely to the sucess of Nintendo's Mario.
I would say that Megaman was more largely based on Metroid.

I have to admit, when I saw that I thought it was animal crossing for the Wii. sims are lifelike, so they should stick to that.

Me too. I though that the people would look more normal in the new animal crossing game.  Then I saw that it was MySims... :-(

Creating your own little world is fun, especially when you can do things that you wouldn't normally be able to do in real life, and if you screw up, well, that's what the power button is for. :-)

That's because you can't connect with people randomly over the internet and share your town and what you have managed to do as easily.
