Well i updated to the new wii web browser and here is what they did and didn't do

1.they implemented the flash version 7.0 not the latest 8.0 version sucks

2.they implemented security protocals remember all the sites where you could play duck hunt online using the flashplayer on the nintendo wii well nintendo decided to block these sites that emulate games on the internet without having to download them so have fun

3.display is messed up

4.connection sucks and i dont mean mine i mean when the web browser connects to the internet

5.no video support

and nintendo expects people to pay 500 wii points for this garbage

They don't expect you to pay 500 points for it. It's free. Also, Opera said right out "We will be releasing updates regularly for the browser."

So calm down.

they used flash 7 for a reason, because adobe won't allow them to use the latest version for some reason, the video support is due to them not having permission to implent the codecs required, your connection sucks but some people's don't, the display is not messed up, it's your TV most likely and last but not least the browser is free atm and if you don't like it use thew PC browser

Have you tried to play emulators online or visit other wii sites

thanks to opera's security system unless the online certificite passes there security system you cannot access any site that doesn't pass authorization even funnier this nails out several wii web pages and even nails out peoples personal web pages as well so if you are thinking about viewing someone else's web page online have fun it most likely wont load or set off the browser security feature.

and i was just mentioning the things wrong with the browser you do not have to get offensive over it untill you have tried visiting some other sites like wiix online and others you do not know what im talking about by security all you have to do is click the i icon and it will tell you weather the certificate is valid or not

Erm... I don't need to play emulators. My Wii has plenty of VC games, and I'm fine paying a few bucks to play it legally.

Also, none, and I repeat, none of the sites I visit on my Wii (I don't go to larger sites, such as IGN or Wii-vo on it) have had any of the security problems mentioned.

Also, again, your connection must be terrible if it is taking forever to load. My Wii nearly instantly loads the browser up and I can connect to any Web page in less than 10 seconds. (Usually less than 5.)

So, I don't see why you're hating it so badly, seeing as it is just a CONSOLE and your PC, which has a much better browser, is within walking distance. This is just for use to read up on news, look at images, and other minor internet things. It isn't for the person who plays Runescape or any other game it's just there as a convenience to access smaller sites and show it off to your family and friends.

If you want to watch videos or other non-flash 7 things, use your PC. 'Nuff said.

You can watch videos on youtube and wiitube and miitube and other similar sites.  But all the fancy video game sites use Flash 8 and the Wii doesn't support that.  Who cares.  SuperTongue is right, just use a PC to go online and give Nintendo a break.  Even the (unmodded) 360 doesn't have a browser on it, so be happy.
