Today i went to play my wii and i grab my wiimote, sat fown on my sofa, and turned on my wii. I pointed it at the tv and the pointer didnt come up, so i move my sofa closer to the tv until i could see it. Now for (both(2)of) my wiimotes to work, i got to have my sofa 6 feet away from the tv( and before it was at 10 feet). what is wrong?

Sounds like your sensor bar is acting up.  (Unless you have a habit of throwing your Wiimote at stuff).  If that isn't the problem, it might be the controllers, but the wire on the sensor is so small that it is easy to damage.

I'm just taking a shot in the dark and saying that maybe you were "stressing" your Wiimotes. (Don't even ask if it's possible because I don't know.)

By that I mean you might have been just on the limit between your T.V. and the farthest distance the Wiimote can see the lights from the sensor bar. It might have been just getting the signal and stressing the receiver, but that's just what I think could happen.

Admit it GAMECUBE5000, you have an anger issue and you throw you Wii remotes at your TV and now you are trying to get away with it!!!  Just kidding :-) :-)  Don't worry, we all have trouble with our controllers every now and then.

That seems to be really weird that before you were able to use them at 10ft and now you have to move closer. Whenever I have friends over and bring the Wii out into the living room, we are able to play a good 10ft away. I don't think it would fix your problem, but you may want to try adjusting the sensor bar location and/or go into options and make sure if the bar is above the tv, for it to be on that setting.
