Everyone loves Pokemon on the DS. But on console....Pokemon tends to have just run-of-the-mill gameplay.

I was thinking of getting PBR, but have been hesitant because I hear its lacking like previous Pokemon Battle games. So can someone tell me whats up with PBR, especially the following questions:

1) Is there the full library of pokemon available in the game? And when I say "full library", I mean everything from Red/Blue to Pearl/Diamond.

2) Can I select the pokemon in the game to battle with? Meaning that there is nothing stupid like quick select, where the computer chooses your pokemon. I want to choose my own damn pokemon.

3) Is it absolutley necessary to have pearl and diamond? I remember the first Pokemon Battle on the N64 and you could pick any pokemon without worrying about pearl or diamond.

4) How is online mode? This is the least important question, however I would still like to know.

Thank you!

Well, I guess I can take a shot at some of your questions, even though I don't own the game.

1) All Pokemon are "usable" in the game, but I'm guessing not all are "available" to rent if you don't have them captured on your game.

2) I saw a video of someone picking their own Pokemon, so I'd have to say yes to this question.

3) If you didn't take notice, I said you can rent Pokemon in the game if you don't have Diamond or Pearl, so the answer to this question is no.

4) I have no idea, seeing as I don't have the game.

Sorry if any of the three questions are wrong, I was just basing it off what I saw/heard about the game.

No...that pretty much sums it up for me. When I was reading Gamestop reviews, it sounded like you couldn't use pokemon unless you had unlocked them in your pokedex through pearl/diamon. And I wanted someone to confirm that....since thats true, that would make Pokemon Battle Revolution the most retarded game ever.

If anyone else has anything else to say about the game, I would like to hear. Thanks again!

I don't always go with IGN (and any other ratings) just because I don't know the people personally.

Anyway, I would burn $50 before I'd buy this game, and since I would never burn a United States dollar, I would never buy this game! Hooray for patriotism!

Don't buy it if your pokemon exceed level 50 in pokemon diamond and pearl

you cannot use them pbr is limited to level 50 pokemon only and most of the players online are computer players.

so have fun winning

Haha...I read your rant on the game before and I know you'd like to kick the producers in the mouth over this game.

Are the gamecube pokemon battle games any good and worthwhile getting?

Colosseum (hope I spelled that right) was ok... it atleast had a single player and your Pokemon lv limit is 100..so that beats out BR already.

If you count renting crappy Pokemon and fighting against impossible CPU's a single player mode. Colleseum actually had a plotline with running around and training Pokemon unlike BR.  BR is only good for crap online play.

The online play play just got worse. You can't use legendaries anymore and you cannot rent pokemon! The game has a preset battle pass that you must use if you don't have D/P. 5/10 is a good score for this game. :x

Damn, I guess Nintendo is just shutting out all Pokemon fans on the Wii with this. If people have legendaries, they should be allowed to use them. Hmmm... maybe a system where you were matched up with someone with similar Pokemon to yours could fix all this, but Nintendo doesn't believe that people should have this ability.
