PS3 battles back

In case you haven't heard, PS3 is releasing a new model for only $399...a $200 price cut from the original model meaning that you can buy a PS3 and a 2 new model PS2s (Sony is soon releasing a new PS2 model to debut at $99). Thats great news for those looking to save some money and upgrade to next gen. But bad news for console competitors like Nintendo and Microsoft.
For instance, numbers don't lie. And in Japan, numbers are telling the story how Sony and the PS3 may be the comeback kids of the year.
PS3 battling back
Currently, a PS3 in Japan is selling for every two Wiis. Which is incredibly better than a few months ago when a PS3 would sell for every six Wiis.
With the inclusion of Home and big name games like Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid, GTA4, and original titles like Haze scheduled to be released on the PS3...Sony may have a very bright future for its console which at one time seemed imminent for a very dark, and dismal funeral.

Meh, still doesn't influence me enough. I probably will get one later next year for the Bluray player, but that's mainly my own reason. I'll be waiting for the Dualshock 3 controllers to be put into the packages.
Plus, I'm not going to be getting the 40 GB model anyway considering it doesn't have the memory stick reader like the other two models. This is a big deal for me because I would like to just look at my pictures in one quick click of the memory stick rather than having to copy them to a CD or any other possible thing.
Little Big Planet and Haze aren't really being advertised as console sellers. If Sony really wants to push sales out of the sky, they need to get some ads for Little Big Planet up a few weeks before launch along with demos in stores, etc. I've heard from plenty of people that the Super Mario Galaxy demo completely made them want the game. So here's to hoping Sony does well with marketing!
(OH SNAP, DID HE JUST WISH SONY GOOD LUCK ON A NINTENDO BOARD?!?!?!?)
