208 companies in 11 countries, that is 208 third-party companies who plan on producing games for the PS3. The Wii has a mighty.....61....?

Should this be of any concern?

I believe at first glance, yes. This is a huge blow to the Wii. While E3 has helped draw some interest to the Wii (EA wasn't planning on making any games for the Wii till after E3), it seems that it has yet to win the war. The Wii is going to have to prove itself in order to win over more production companies, as it has had proved itself at E3....but now, the Wii won't be competing at some giant geekfest, but now for real -- meaning if the Wii can't come up with the results, who knows...? Nintendo could go belly up with the home console.

I think the Wii will be able to prove itself, but its going to take some good advertising and Wii-owners getting none Wii-owners to play with them to show off how great the Wii really is....after all, I would have never even think of buying an Xbox if I never played Halo with my friends. That may be the same concept applied to the Wii. Wii-owners are going to be free advertising for Nintendo.

It'll take a lot of time, but I hope the Wii can draw in more producers that way the Wii has the advantage of having many production companies, with many and different ideas as to how to utilize the innovative controller. Like I noted before, EA was completely against the Wii until after E3....Nintendo has to win back the respect it lost during the N64 and Gamecube years.

As soon as the Wii is in the hands of the public, those numbers will be reversed.

My 2 cents ;-)

With the unlimitless creativity that can happen with the Wii and the extremely low development kit costs I forsee many, many, many, many more third party developers coming on board to make some games for the Wii. It's just a matter of time.

"Four kids titles (SpongeBob, Avatar, Barnyard, Cars) will ship in Q3 for the Wii, which should outsell the PS3 in Q3 due to more units available at launch"

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6154860.html

So does that mean the Wii is going to outsell the PS3? Or that those four Wii games will outsell the PS3 version of them?

To me.....I don't know what it means, but all four of those games are probably going to suck.

I think it means that those four Wii games will outsell the PS3 versions because there will be more Wii units at launch. But it could mean the that the Wii is going to outsell the PS3. I just saw it that way first.

And  another thing my comrades..

There is news that Nintendo is handing out free dev kits to third-party producers and trying their hardest to get other involved on the Wii.

Well that's definitely a great thing. They are already practically giving them away with the low price. The more developers who get their hands on the development kits the better. I'm glad to see that Nintendo is really trying hard to get some 3rd party support.

In some ways it would be harder because of the new controller but in some ways it would be easier with the new controller. Hard because it's something new and different and easier because now you don't have to assign everything to a button.

ah, you dont? so far, i've seen about 4 different looking wii-motes...how do you hold all four of them at once?

I kinda doubt you use them all at the same time..so one to a certain game?

You wouldn't hold more than two at once. I'm assuming you mean 4 different attachments? The most popular one will probably be the Nunchuck attachment the one that has the control stick and the triggers. But the rest will only probably be used for a smaller minority of games.

for most games, but some games like brawl, need the gc or cc to play. also the vc might be better for some games with the cc and fps games but be fun with the gun.
