Post by: meridianblade on November 09, 2007, 10:32:12 AM During a conference call to announce its latest music game Rock Band for release on Xbox 360 and PS3, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos hinted strongly that a Wii-specific version of the title would be coming out in the future. When asked if there was any chance Rock Band would arrive on Wii, Rigopulos said without hesitation, "Absolutely."

Well graphics and community problems plague the Wii. Not so much graphics, but the community features aren't so well tied together as well as the 360's; let's just say Xbox Live.
Rock Band is vastly focused on making a band and going to play it on the Internet. The singleplayer mode does look fantastic (so much better than GHIII), but the game was made to show off your band skills and "rock out" with other players from around the country or the world. It would be possible on Wii, but with the 360, you get so many more options just on the community side of it all. And it is really a large portion of the game. Title: Re: Rock band? Post by: Puff Daddy on November 15, 2007, 11:18:00 AM I understand why you're getting it for the 360. But are you really going to pay $200 for it?

Well the Wii version isn't going to be any cheaper than the 360's or PS3's because the main price is because of the instruments. Harmonix has announced that packs for separately sold instruments will be out some time next year, for 360 and PS3. Most likely, I'll still get the full pack. I really want to check out drums but the guitar is also fun on the first two GH. (Oh, and the Wii version would most likely be only $10 less than the 360. Check out GH3.) Title: Re: Rock band? I hope the game is well worth it. If I were you, I'd charge anyone and everyone who wants to come over to play it, $5 admission fee. Yearly passes are $60. Title: Re: Rock band? Post by: SuperTongue on November 30, 2007, 04:05:40 PM I may or may not buy the game after Christmas. I'm doubting that I will because I really want a new processor to play TF2 on high settings (right now I'm playing it on super-low; I changed the Direct-X Level to 8.1 and if you did not know, it is on DX 10...), but who knows?
It looks like a great game; I really want it for the band-world tour mode because of the customization of it all. Plus, multiplayer is obviously a must... I may have to take you up on your idea... Though most of my friend's are cheap assholes, so it most likely wouldn't work. Title: Re: Rock band? Post by: Puff Daddy on December 01, 2007, 09:31:36 AM My idea wasn't completely serious. Although, my one friend, when asked if he would get Rock Band, had said, "Sure, if you guys help pitch in a little." There are two problems with me giving him money or anyone else giving him money, and they are:
1. I want it at my house. Assuming that everyone pays the same, then can I get some love and just keep the thing at my house so I can play it. 2. The friends that don't pay, but do want to play. Screw 'em. But could you really do that to some of your closest friends? If you're going to get it. You could have a sibling help...I forget if you have one or not. Or hopefully you rack up that much Christmas cash that you could blow it on the game and maybe have money (from a job, whatever) and use it for your new processor. Title: Re: Rock band? Post by: SuperTongue on December 01, 2007, 01:39:36 PM If only that were true.... Well I'm most likely not getting that much for Christmas this year, but I might have enough money saved up before Christmas to get the processor and I might just get enough money to get Rock Band.
Either way, I'll get it sometime near Christmas or next year. Title: Re: Rock band? Post by: Puff Daddy on December 01, 2007, 08:06:59 PM In that case, good luck. Let me know if Rock Band is worthwhile if you ever get it. Maybe I'll find it at a yard sale 10 years from now.
Title: Re: Rock band? Post by: leonghost23 on January 01, 2008, 01:26:45 AM I would love Rockband on the Wii!
When I heard it was coming out on the 360 and the PS3 I was really mad the wii wasnt getting any love! But my only concern is that it will be the same version as the PS2 one, i heard that one sucked. |
