Anyone know if the online service for online Nintendo games will be free and if so please back that up with a link!

YES! it will be available at no charge unlike live.  PS3 will also have free online play :-)

Quote
Nintendo of America’s recently promoted president and chief operating officer Reggie Fils-Aime has commented on a number of features of the Wii’s imminent launch, including confirmation of free online play.

Yup, live sure does. The only thing you might be buying for online on your Wii is the Opera browser. I'm extremely tired, but I thought I read something a little while ago stating the the Opera browser won't be available, along with several other channels, at launch/ to download...Hopefully when it does become available to get, Nintendo will give us time to try it out, most likely I'll end up wanting to keep it so I will purchase it.

The Opera broswer will be free to download until June 2007. I read that in my NP

actually sony is talking about different tiers of play online, like the basic mode being free but other types you pay for, anything to screw over their customers like the bait and switch.

PS2 already has free online play, except for a few games like Everquest Online charges a monthly fee. Isn't that something that has been enforced in most areas of gaming? Such as Computers....or Xbox? Some online computer games are free, some aren't and require a monthly fee like the great World of Warcraft. I guess your response now is that WOW is trying to dick everyone in the world over?

Xbox Live has developed the idea and pushed further for the online console gaming world. Sony has failed there, but at least it can learn from its failures. Nintendo has nothing....and they will have nothing for the beginning of the Wii. I guess if Sony does anything to dick its customers over, I guess Nintendo does everything to dissapoint and screw up its business. Right?

Nonononononononono!! Nintendo does not screw their buissness over! Sony does! you're supporting Sony and dissin' Nintendo?!?!? Then you shouldn't be on Wii-vo. Ever.

Vander, are you the owner or the co-founder, or the admin or the whatever of Wii-Vo? As long as I am not crazy, no... So please never post such a thing again. Wii-Vo is open to everyone with a backed up opinion. And, if you ask me, what we would love NOT to see here is Fan Boys that would support Ninty even if they put their next console for 100000000000 euro... Wii-Vo isn't the site where you come, post some "Oh great Nintendo, you are the best", and leave.

P.S: I hope Ray is ok with this post and with the fact that I am talking in behalf of him. I think that

true, but which has the better service? universal friend system, intergame invites, private chats not even requiring multiplayer play, streamlined marketplace. you tell me who has the service worth paying for.

hey spartan, have you forgotten, you dont pay for nintendos or sonys service (though sonys is almost nonexistent) besides, there too many ads and crap downloads on marketplace. tiger woods cheats for money? ads everywhere? im sorry but if you throw ads in my service it damn well better be free..... or maybe a few free downloads.....

ummmm... starlit, there arent any ads anywhere. and there are TONS of free downloads, EAs the only ones who makes you pay. theres a great free trial system to the arcade, and for many games you can download content for free. its just premium content like maps that you have to pay for. and then not even all the time. i still dont know where u got the whole ad thing from.

So that everyone knew who he was talking about.  Just like I'm doing here.  It's a convenient way to keep conversations continuous.
