Title: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Sharkspark on June 24, 2006, 12:22:37 AM
Pokemon of different genders will be visually different, right? Does this both intrigue and creep anyone else out?

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: spawn on June 24, 2006, 12:26:03 AM
a couple pokemon already are ;)

itll be different from what we're used to seeing but it wont be creepy imo

Post by: Sharkspark on June 24, 2006, 12:30:27 AM
Yeah, just the sight I read it from said something about "Pokemon willies..." I don't need to know if Pikachu has a Pikagina, a little female symbol in the corner is all I need.

But what kinds are already different? I've not played in a long while....

Post by: spawn on June 24, 2006, 12:32:22 AM
lol i was ganna say as long as they arnt 'visually' different im fine with it, but i remembered, its pokemon, pokemon = under 12 mostly. but the games are fun :D and im 16

nidoran?
eveolved to nidorina and nidorino then nidaqueen and nidaking

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Sharkspark on June 24, 2006, 12:36:01 AM
Nidoran doesn't count... they've been treated as different pokemon species since Red and Green.

I thought pokemon was fun haha

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Sharkspark on June 24, 2006, 12:39:29 AM
Pokemon is fun, but I hope this isn't milking the same old concepts they've been milking since Gold and Silver. That generation of Pokemon sucked for the most part. The originals will always been the best.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on June 24, 2006, 03:04:46 AM
It would be cool if each gender could have their own unique appearence. For instance, a female Jigglypuff could be all 'cute' and puppy-dog eyed, whereas the males should be made to look a lot more masculine?

Nintendo will only have the male and female signs next to their names, though.

Post by: MetroidHunter on June 25, 2006, 08:34:20 PM
I thought this was just for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl?

I've seen a few comparison pics that show it off, but sometimes it's really hard to tell a difference. It's an okay new feature, but it's not that big of a deal. It seems sort of pointless at times.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Puff Daddy on June 26, 2006, 10:12:55 PM
So like Growlithe, the fire pokemon that kinda resembles a big hairy dog, will have big giant balls dangling down? Big, giant, hairy nuts....

But if its a girl, nothing. I wonder if they'll let us breed them as well like in Gold/Silver and show the process of actual breeding. I sure hope so. Because a boy growlithe mounting a girl clefairy would be totally HAWT. That's right hawt, like those dumb teenage kids say, thats how hawt it would be. So hawt that its like new, in-style, and cool hawt. Totally hawt.

... 8O

That's all I have to say about the above post.

Here are some examples of the differences the female is on the left:

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on June 28, 2006, 03:01:55 PM
Damn, is that the only kind of gender differences we can expect to see in the games? Oh well, I wasn't really expecting anything spectacular anyway, as there are most likely going to be 400 odd Pokemon for the player to collect.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on June 28, 2006, 03:06:11 PM
They are pretty much just like that, sometimes even less noticeable. I believe for Butterfree the only difference is a black spot on one of their lower pair of wings.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on June 28, 2006, 03:24:08 PM
It took me long enough to notice the differences of the two Whoopers. Still, Nintendo already have the signs for them, so why would they want to slightly modify their looks anyway?

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on June 28, 2006, 09:33:50 PM
I dunno, just to say it's a new feature I guess. There's not that much they can add after all. Hopefully it's just a minor thing and they've done a lot more.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: spawn on June 28, 2006, 10:16:43 PM
they could also add slight color variations imo,
like light red comapred to dark red, blue and purple butterfree?

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on June 28, 2006, 10:25:05 PM
That's a good idea. Like do a slightly more pink shade for the female Butterfree. Yeah, that would be cool.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on June 29, 2006, 11:19:35 AM
I hope to see the inclusion of the "shiny" pokemon from Gold, Silver and Crystal as well, now that you mention it. Despite not actually finding that many of them, they were an awesome addition.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on June 29, 2006, 11:55:37 AM
Yeah I'm pretty sure they were in Fire Red and Leaf Green, I'm not for sure though. They were so rare, I think I saw a figure it was like 1 per every 13,000 pokemon encountered. I only caught like 3 in all the games I've played. The best one was definitely a shiny blue Voltorb.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Sharkspark on June 29, 2006, 12:45:30 PM
I remember the only shiny pokemon I caught besides the Gyarados... I had a pink Butterfree and a golden Noctowl... man... those two were in the show too... they stole my copy of Gold and made the show out of it!

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: spawn on June 29, 2006, 12:57:10 PM
lol, i had the gyarados, and something else, cant remember what though

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on June 29, 2006, 01:45:52 PM
Damn, I think I only owned the Gyarados. I guess I will have to just play my Silver version again. :P

Anywhooo, I think they should return in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Does anybody agree with me?

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on June 29, 2006, 11:28:11 PM
I agree completely, I doubt they don't include them though since they were in Fire Red and Leaf Green.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on June 30, 2006, 10:00:29 AM
They were in Fire Red and Leaf Green? This is the first I've ever heard about this. Are you sure? :?

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on June 30, 2006, 08:56:29 PM
Yeah, I'm positive because that's where I caught my blue Voltorb. They were definitely in there.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on July 01, 2006, 05:00:57 AM
I guess it could be possible then. :P

It is sort of a glitch anyway, isn't it? With the exception of the Red Gyarados, as that one was intentional.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on July 03, 2006, 04:48:47 PM
No, it's no glitch. They purposely put them in there.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on July 04, 2006, 10:08:56 AM
What all of them? Every single one of the blighters was made like that on purpose? I thought it was only for a select few. :?

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on July 04, 2006, 10:45:48 AM
No, each Pokemon has a shiny counterpart. If you want to see them you can look on serebii.net. They have them all.

I'm kind of freaked out by Puff Daddy's post.

Are you asking for a Pokemon hot coffee?

now that's a weird fetish.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on July 31, 2006, 12:53:39 PM
Don't worry, you'll get used to his posts soon enough. Pokeporn would sell by the bucket-loads, though... :?

I can't wait to drop my little blighters off in the Gaycare Center :P

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: dezine on July 31, 2006, 12:55:50 PM
He don't bother me, lol kinda funny really.

Gaycare? LoL, y'all crack me up.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on July 31, 2006, 01:12:55 PM
Yep, we certainly are a weird lot. By the way, I am half British and half American. So, as I am not complete of either of them, I have not, at all, lost my sense of humor. Unlike all those dull, humorless 100% Britains and Americans. Oh how I would love to take a wiimote and shove it up all their...

Erm, I mean, I will rule all of you one of these days!!!

Yep, I believe that's a pretty good cover up. :D

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: dezine on July 31, 2006, 03:35:24 PM
I'm not technically 100%, as most americans I'm as mixed racially as the next. I consider myself British American because a lot of my family is from Britain. But I also got some Scottish, German and Indian in the mix.

I'm a mutt.

I'm sorry, let's just talk about their hard, multi-colored balls instead, then. The Pokeballs that is.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: dezine on August 01, 2006, 04:19:32 PM
Nice. What happened to the simple times when there was only one color of pokeball. :?:

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on August 01, 2006, 04:54:51 PM
I personally like the variety of Pokeballs. I like how they made the new ones that work better on certain types. I'd like to see the legendaries that you can only get through those stupid, stupid contest and Toys R Us things be only catchable with a certain ball and you have to do something really hard to get the ball. That's much better than having to go to some big city to find Nintendo to get them to put it on my game pak.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on August 02, 2006, 06:58:12 AM
There should be occasional online tournaments for Diamond and Pearl in which the winner receives a special message from Nintendo followed by a free legendary Pokemon.

that would be cool .my brother got mad so i looked for him and then they came with all this download it from wherever. im in alaska so frankly that sucks    oh well you could do action replay

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on August 20, 2006, 09:51:22 PM
Man, I thought it was bad being in Kentucky and never being anywhere near a Nintendo tour spot, I didn't even think about Alaska.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Mrfudge on August 21, 2006, 03:38:53 PM
I thought It'd be cool if they had little things you had to do when attacking like a scratch with the controller or stylus (You can use the DS as a Wii controller can't you?) when you used scratch. Do you think they'll have a minigame bit like in the other stadiums? That was the only game my mum would play apart from bust-a-move and tetris.

the only thing I can do for guys on fire red is action replay.

You know, if you rent Pokemon Channel and keep changing the Gamecube  clock a day forward after each "Pikachu and Pichu" clip, then you can get Jirachi into the Ruby or Sapphire version.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: raving rabid on August 22, 2006, 10:59:09 AM
and that scrathc thing would get really gay after a while

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on August 22, 2006, 02:44:00 PM
You can really get Jirachi? I've never heard of that before.

I f that thing works  it will be the only way to get it without the preview disk

Yeah, you can transfer it to your copy of Ruby or Sapphire from Pokemon Channel after you beat it. I'd recommend you only rent the game, though.

I haven't really bothered to level my Jirachi up much, as I just wanted to add it in my collection.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on August 24, 2006, 03:12:37 PM
I'm not that hardcore for Pokemon anyway, so it's not a big deal, but I thought it was interesting.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on August 24, 2006, 03:37:30 PM
I'm not a 'hardcore' Pokemon player either, but I do like trying to collect as many of the little blighters as I can(which isn't that much).

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: raving rabid on August 24, 2006, 07:29:41 PM
the games are good considering some of the other games make me wanna hurl

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: MetroidHunter on August 25, 2006, 10:13:47 PM
Yeah, I haven't been as big on collecting as when I first got the games, I'm more about training and stuff, but if there are some really cool Pokemon in this one I'll probably try and catch them all. Or as many as I can get without having to go to a Nintendo tour event.

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: raving rabid on August 26, 2006, 01:03:55 AM
the only way to get them without a nintendo event is to buy an action replay  (  20 to 30$) put the code in so you get the pass to the island instead of just getting him. example instead of getting deoxys get the ticket to the island . you will feel like you actually worked for it. SORT OF

Title: Re: Pokemon Revolution
Post by: Marink on August 30, 2006, 03:46:53 AM
Or you could try to find someone with the rare 'mon and ask them to trade. I had a friend that owned Mew on his game. I forgot which game it was though...

Unfortunately, he wouldn't trade it with me. :(

The Gamecube Pokemon games offer you quite a few of the "legendaries", though(such as the tiger things).

Post by: MetroidHunter on August 30, 2006, 05:21:10 PM
Oh I heard that in the latest Nintendo Power that Nintendo will be giving away Mew at Toys R Us's September 30th. I heard that on another forum so I don't know if it's a fact or not.
