While most of these games look really good, I voted for MP3 cause I'm a metroid nut.  Also, it is probably going to come out in Q2, so I don't have to wait forever.

I love Sonic and I'm interested in Battalion Wars 2. However, the game that willmake me splooge my pants is going to be Super Smash Brothers.

For some reason, I think the new Mario....Super Mario Galaxy......its going to be corny. It'll be good, but it just won't feel like the same Mario. I don't know why i get that vibe from the game, but I do.

Yeah that and its part of Mario 128 which was an experiment more than a game. Although, it did give life to the idea and gameplay of Pikmin. Supposedly, a bunch of the ideas from Mario 128 are in Super Mario Galaxy. When I hear things like that, I wonder how strong a game is when its just fragments being glued together.

Metroid is going to come out before Brawl, so I anticipate it more, but they will both be awesome games.

Galaxy is not going to be like Sunshine! "This is the Mario game that I think I've wanted since Mario 64"  This game is just Mario, no FLOOD, and outer space. This game is loking really good as long as the game doesn't get too repetitive and doesn't have a boss every time you get a star and also doesn't have a time limit for every stage. :mushy:

i heard Metroid Prime 3: Corruption got pushed back to 2008

Still a rumour, and an unlikely one at that.  It just has a placeholder date of New Year 2008, which has the same likelyhood as Brawl coming out on the 1st of June, the current "date".

Didn't anyone read the Q2 Line-Up? Neither game is in there so I'm assuming both games will come in like November.

im looking forward to pokemon battle revolution but that wont come out for another few mouths so im going to think about smash bros. brawl

SSBB  isn't coming out until After Battle Revolution. I'm probably not going to get it because it has no single player.

Brawl is coming out after Battle Revolution. Battle Revolution does not have any single player. It's basically just a way to play Diamond and Pearl in 3D and online. Diamond and Pearl come out April 22 and Battle Revolution comes out June 25.

Battle Revolution does have a single player mode, but it is not like Colosseum or Gale of Darkness. It is more like Pokemon Stadium. The game doesn't sound like it has much to do in it, but I am still going to get it so I can get online with the Wii. 8-)

The single player is renting crappy Pokemon and losing to the first guy you get to. That's what I define as 'No Singleplayer'

Agreed.  The same is true about MPH, which has the absolute worst single player game I have ever seen in a Nintendo franchise game.

Nintendo needs better shooters on the Wii and hopefully Metroid will deliver that.

I wish more shooters would be coming to Wii (i.e. HL2-Source Engine games), but I highly doubt it.

I could seriously care less about Brawl right now. If they use the GC controller, it's basically a GameCube game with minor-updated graphics and online play. Nothing really "special" about that. And online play won't improve the game anyways because of the terrible system Nintendo has.

Anyway, I guess my game for '07 would have to be MP3 or Super Mario Galaxy (if it even makes 07).

Why do you hate the Nintendo wii so much? I recall one of your last posts in another thread about "why is it called wii?" and you blasted out about how much it stinks.

Actually, SMG and MP3 (which is a music player, not a game :-P) have both been announced to come out after Brawl, so chances are not likely.

Delays, delays, delays.  It's a pain.  I don't care why Nintendo is holding back their games, I just wish they would release games within two days or less of when they actually say they will release them.  Not like Twilight Princess where we had to wait another year and a half or so. :-(

I never said I hated Nintendo or the Wii. My only problem is with what their main choices were for online play and the controls for one of their biggest, and most anticipated, games. It makes no sense to put Brawl with a GC controller. It just makes it a GameCube game with online play (which will more than likely seem like I am playing a bot).

Also, to PsymonStark I don't really believe there are that many third-party characters in the game. I haven't really followed SSBB, but to my understanding, isn't it just Snake that is a third-party character?

How would you expect to play Brawl with a Wiimote and Nunchuk? Wave the Wiimote around to make Mario kick the ceiling? No

There are plenty of ways the developers could have mapped certain buttons to certain moves. Hell, I'd be fine if they did it with the Classic Controller. But the GameCube controller is a terrible idea. They can easily map all the controls to the Wii-mote and Nunchuck easily.

There actually has been talk that you can use a classic controller OR a GCube controller. Rumor has it that you may have up to 8 players using 4 Classic Controllers and 4 GCube Controllers.

alright, well, can you give some examples of mapping the controls to the nunchuck and wiimote? cause i just cant think of anything that would be logical.

Easy. A minor flick can do the basic move. Since, apparently, you could care less for realistic-like gameplay, it wouldn't matter. For other moves, button combos and timed presses, remember, there are more than 2 buttons between the Nunchuk and controller.

That was plenty specific. I not a super-smash bros. fanatic, so I don't play it constantly or have played it constantly. I don't remember much of the controls (I haven't played the game for awhile), so I can't be much more specific than that.

There are plenty of possibilities, and Nintendo and its development teams have the mind power to think of them.

Rent DBZ 2, the game that was being given away for the contest. Thats how the controlls could be. Mash A for simple move. Jump with C. Raise Wiimote up then down to do a move.

I'd much rather see SSBB on Nunchuk and wiimote and I think its absolutely dumb to put it on a regular controller. It'll just draw criticism from Nintendo haters about how Nintendo's idea of motion controls is shot.

The 8 player rumor sounds kind of tacky to me. Sure 8-player would be cool, but I think it would be too much carnage to be on a TV screen and the 4 GC and 4 VC controllers just sounds stupid.

Well, E3 is in July, just a few days above two months away. Hopefully we see some new light on the game then.

Puff's idea that it would Be like DBZ II just sounds strange. Why wouldn't you keep it to the perfectly normal, great controller settings for Melee on the GCN? If it were like DBZ II then that would just be wierd, not really cool.

Your motto doesn't work with Nintendo's overall aim for the Wii. They wanted to change how you play games, so why stop with one of their biggest and most expected titles?

See, you don't get it. This game is probably the biggest hit for Nintendo this year, which will attract attention. A lot of attention. One game can change a lot. Remember when Halo came out? Well that defined how to create a good FPS on consoles and how to base your storyline, along with multiplayer.

Now this game can be used to show developers how to implement the Wii-motes abilities and make use of the Wii's online play. But if the controls are based through the GC or Classic controllers, it really isn't much different from the first game, except for online play. Nothing different.

How could you say that?! It will be nothing like Melee, new characters, new graphics, New Everything!. There are other famous titles coming out this year, so Brawl is NOT the only earth shattering title.

Brawl is exactly like Melee. How, you ask? Well first and foremost, it is still the same core game. Just with new levels and new characters. I don't consider that a "new game." The online play is most likely going to feel like MPH, which basically felt like you were playing against a computer. The graphics aren't very "improved" either. Much of the styles of the game could have easily been pulled off on the GC. The only reason the games look different is because Melee didn't come out at the end of the GC's lifespan (TP both look the same, for example).

So, let's round this up:
Brawl is basically Melee with new levels, characters, and... well a bad shot at online play. Now, the online play can obviously be improved, but until I can actually talk with someone on a microphone and not use friend codes, it's a terrible online experience.

We don't even know what's going to happen for brawl's online play, so you can't acurately make that statement.

Read that part again. The point of it being is that the assumption that the game will use friend codes is definite. How? PBR and SMSC both use friend codes. And my idea of a terrible online experience includes friend codes, thus making that game's online play "terrible" to me.

Now there is a chance of a microphone, but I'm not getting any hopes seeing as the developers are too lazy to actually use the Wii's controller. If they can't even take a few days/weeks to think of control schemes to map to the Wii-mote and Nunchuck, then I doubt they will take the 5 minutes to add microphone support.

Do you have ANY IDEA how long it takes to implement these sorts of features? Most people were FOR the GCN ccontroller. As for a microphone and friend codes we'll have to see. BR is going to have random pair-up feature...so brawl may well have it. Microphone depends....

Oh come on. The game has been in development for years. The Wii controls could have been easily added into the game. And on the online side of things, the game will use friend codes because the system is on the network and so are the games, which make it impossible to update the Wii to get rid of them, seeing as the online games that are coming out soon will make use of them.

Also, "random matches" are pretty bad. As I said, unless I can talk or type to a randomly selected person, the system fails. Nintendo is too protective of their consumers, and this basically why most of their online games aren't great.

No, that's a bad thing. Not paying for the service means that it can be as shitty as possible. Xbox Live is wonderful, even if you have to pay for it. $50 a year doesn't rip a hole in my wallet, so I'm fine paying for it. And if you can't pay $50 a year, then you shouldn't be on Xbox Live in the first place.

I think mario charged soccer is going to be the best and Supertongue is right even if wii has it free we have to go through codes and xbox live gets way more people

Personally, I'm most looking forward to Metroid Prime 3, especially after all that was said and shown during E3. Heck, IGN claimed it to play better than any FPS to date. Those are some bold words in my opinion and I can't wait to try it myself.
