Title: Diddy Kong Racing Post by: SuperTongue on February 07, 2007, 11:16:14 PM Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone bought this game yet. I'm looking to get it this weekend if I can make enough cash for it. It looks pretty fun, and I loved the original for the N64. It also got a 10 in replay value from IGN.com which is definitely a great thing because I love games with which I can spend a lot of time on! So, has anyone got this game? If so, how is it? :em-29: Title: Re: Diddy Kong Racing Post by: SuperTongue on February 08, 2007, 11:50:33 PM Sorry to double post, but I just wanted to let everyone know I got this game today.
I really love the single player, but for now that's where I'm staying. I've tried to play Multiplayer over Wifi, but every time I got into a race, I would eventually drop back into 6th place and then I could never catch up. (Watch the IGN.com Video Review to see why.) Overall, this game is just great. Buy it if you loved the original. Title: Re: Diddy Kong Racing Post by: iimawii™ on February 09, 2007, 12:11:41 AM I guess because I'm so much of a fan for the original, I'm not entertained as much but definately NOT saying that I don't love the game. For some reason why I try to play WiFi, it will never find anyone for me to race against, so I've just stuck to multiplayer on Mario Kart. SuperTongue we need to give out our friend codes and then anyone on here with DKR or any other WiFi game we can battle against.
►Ok I'm going to do a little work on this DS area and set up a FRIENDS CODE thread where eveyrone can post their friend codes for all their WiFi games and I'll be sure to try to update it daily. Title: Re: Diddy Kong Racing Post by: YoshiLover on February 09, 2007, 03:18:00 PM I got this game the other day. The colors are kind of bright - I prefer the Mario Kart kind of colors.
I've never played against someone with WiFi as NONE of my friends own a DS  Sad but true. A friends code thread would be great as I'd love for someone to play Animal Crossing with too :em-29: Title: Re: Diddy Kong Racing Post by: iimawii™ on February 09, 2007, 03:35:20 PM CLICK HERE (http://www.wii-volution.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,34/topic,2436.msg24701/#msg24701) to check out the friend code thread I made earlier. I just made it today that is why there is only my friend codes listed, so please start posting your friend codes.
Title: Re: Diddy Kong Racing Post by: Wiiadict on February 11, 2007, 06:06:15 PM This game has gotten some pretty mixed reviews... some people are saying it's great, while others are saying it is an insult to the origianal. I don't think I'm going to get it.
Title: Re: Diddy Kong Racing Post by: lilgoaliebro on February 11, 2007, 08:27:01 PM The online play is the only thing making me slightly want this game. I have an N64 in good working order and this game for it. I don't really see the point in buying it again.

Title: Re: Diddy Kong Racing Post by: FUHNAHTIK on April 15, 2007, 09:44:43 PM I need to get a DS - and this game! I was talking to someone at work about it the other day, it sounded awesome!
Title: Re: Diddy Kong Racing Post by: Snipes1616 on April 15, 2007, 10:04:03 PM This game isn't an insult to the original unless you are talking about th voice acting. The bosses no longer talk and all the character's sound effects make you question their gender... but as for everything else, it's been turned up a notch and then some. The game is very customizable: car (hovercraft and plane, too) color, engine upgrades, turning upgrades, airtime upgrades (for going off of jumps), pre-made custom designs. Also, you can have more than one emblem, you can design the posters on the sides of the tracks, you can make custom sound effects, you can also create your own racetracks! There are many more multiplayer options to choose from, four new tracks, a new quest challenge, many new characters (some have been removed for copyright purposes). You can do everything with single card that you can with multicard, it only takes longer to load in single card (because everyone is getting new stuff loaded from one person). On WIFI, you can race up to 6 people (battle mode is still only 4 people). There are many interesting sidequests in the main quest that have been added, and most of them utilize the microphone and the stylus. You can get a boost at the beginning of the race, but it takes more skill. *Deep Breath* It isn't an insult to the original, has plenty of replay, and has the most convenient WIFI, and single card play out there.
