Title: has anyone had issues with the virtual console games lately
Post by: tabletpc on March 06, 2007, 01:20:42 AM
well i went online and downloaded several virtual console games and some are extremely glitchy

here is what i downloaded and what goes wrong

1.super mario bros:was able to walk though pipes and goombas in some levels

2.legend of zelda ocarina of time: took 15 minutes to download and the original on the 64 looks better also no support for gamecube controllers they even give you a warning you must have a classic controller in order to download and use the game they also removed the vibration support which isn't bad

3.mario kart 64:couldn't get ghost save data to work so they removed the feature which sucks if you spend 10.00 for a 64 game wouldn't you think the game should work for everyone all features

4.kirby adventures: unstable graphics pattern behind kirby as you move through the levels

and all of these games including most of the new super nintendo titles just added to the virtual console contain lag issues very bad lag issues

Is your Wii damaged at all? Did you mess around with it while you were downloading them?
I have Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart 64, and Kirby, and haven't had problems (outside certain quirks of emulation.)

The ghost data thing in Mario Kart 64 is a flaw. They warn you before download that you can't do that since they were lazy about the programming. Another problem with this VC game is if you play VS with 3 people on MooMoo Farm, the gamespeed increases about twice as fast.

Download time isn't a Wii problem, it usually an internet connection problem. Keep in mind N64 games are huge compared to the other VC games, especially OOT. I don't have and haven't played the VC OOT, so I don't know if the graphics are that bad, but the fact that Gamecube controllers aren't supported seems weird. Really, really weird.

I've had no problems with Kirby or Super Mario, try deleting the games and re-downloading them (you won't be charged again)

i did that and it didn't help

i think that the virtual console itself is messed up

called nintendo they fixed it and returned the console telling me the consoles wii connect service was unstable for a while but they fixed the issue and fixed my console for nothing weird huh

Allright good. I couldn't figure out what it was myself.
