Title: Next thing to buy the DS? Post by: katoashai on March 26, 2007, 08:44:36 PM I'm very well considering it but the only thing that pushes me away is that my friends have told me there are not a lot of good games for the DS. :\
I'd like a little more pull factors. 1)I need a new handheld that can play my GBA classics 2) I have a NDS shirt. >_> 3) As much as I'm afraid to admit it my old original gameboy advance is dying. The speaker is going and the screen's pixels are starting to die. (Last time I checked 3 were dead.) 4) I need a back-lit screen so I can play at night, not to mention it comes in handy on cloudy days. x3 5) New Pokemon? ;O Push factors. 1) Hear there's not a great library. 2) It's a little expensive. (I got a crappy job, 40-50$ a month and I have to buy like clothes and personal stuff with that <toothbrushes and what not.>) So that's like 4 months almost a 1/4 of a year saving up for a DS lite and a game. 3) I hear they break easy and nintendo is a big pain about replacing them. 4) Can't start saving up for one till April or May, I have to finish buying parts for my computer. ): DDD: Title: Re: Next thing to buy the DS? Post by: MysticGohan on March 26, 2007, 10:16:49 PM /\ dood! i feel sry for you!! and i thought my job suck... what job do you have??? i have a paper root. i have to ask the people who i give the papers to give me money... so i get roughly $110-$130 Canadian a month!
i can't really talk about my ds lite because i had it for like less then a month so ill let the others tell you good stuff about it... Title: Re: Next thing to buy the DS? Post by: iimawii™ on March 27, 2007, 01:03:18 AM 1.) Here's to name ones that come to mind:
•Lost In Blue•Castlevania Portrait Of Ruin•Animal Crossing Wild World•New Super Mario Bros.•Tetris•Ultimate Jump Stars•Children Of Mana•Wario Master Of Disguise•Mario Kart DS•Diddy Kong Racing DS•Metriod Prime Hunters•Cooking Mama•Star Fox Command•Trauma Center: Under The Knife•Hotel Dusk Room 215•Spectrobes•Meteos•Metroid Prime Pinball•Final Fantasy III• 3.) Break easily huh. I've had mine about 8 months now and has been dropped and hasn't broke. Nintendo has good customer service, don't know who has told you they've had trouble replacing it. Check out the picture, an eaten DS by a dog, and I believe Nintendo had to charge $50 to replace, not bad because I'm sure anywhere else he would have had to pay the full price. I have a flyer route, I usually have the same amount of houses (100 something) as a paper route except I get paid less (1 cent for every flyer, mind you I have like 10 every week to deliver) I get paid once a month, no collecting, it's completely based on the amount of fliers my route gets. ): I'm dropping off applications at McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Time, A local Grocer, and a local restaraunt this weekend, hopefully someone hires me. :-( Title: Re: Next thing to buy the DS? Post by: katoashai on March 27, 2007, 03:57:08 PM 1.) Here's to name ones that come to mind: Haha thx for that list I'll be sure to remember it. My cousin dropped his DS Original and the little hinge broke, nintendo made him buy a whole new DS. ):•Lost In Blue•Castlevania Portrait Of Ruin•Animal Crossing Wild World•New Super Mario Bros.•Tetris•Ultimate Jump Stars•Children Of Mana•Wario Master Of Disguise•Super Mario Kart•Diddy Kong Racing DS•Metriod Prime Hunters•Cooking Mama•Star Fox Command•Trauma Center Under The Knife•Hotel Dusk Room 215•Spectrobes•Meteos•Metroid Prime Pinball•Final Fantasy III• 3.) Title: Re: Next thing to buy the DS? Post by: Slick on April 03, 2007, 06:59:36 PM There are more game to add to that list:

Mario and Sonic at the Olympics (DS version) 6. Touchmaster 7. Dragon Ball Z: Harukanaru Densetsu 8. Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales Can't...wait :em-29: Title: Re: Next thing to buy the DS? If you enjoy Mario, there is a buttload. If you want Pokemon, it will be coming out April 21st. There are various RPGs for the DS. And Sonic Rush, the only good Sonic game recently released. Animal Crossing is a good, solid game which suck up your time as well. Take a glance at EBgames.com, and check it out for yourself. But I believe there are plenty of games for the DS to be played and enjoyed. And yes, GBA games can be played on the DS. However, nothing older than GBA can be played. And the DS can be recharged....no need for AA batteries anymore! 2) The Nintendo DS lite is $120, new games are $35. I would say that you need a better job before actually getting the DS. $40-$50 a month....thats crap. I hope your old enough to at least get a shitty job at Taco Bell. Good luck with that! If you do, then maybe....the DS can be considered, but right now I am hesitant to even say "Yes. Get one." 3) Nintendo is known for good customer service. And I can tell you they survive a drop from the pocket to the ground. However, if you leave it in a car on a warm summer day then the touch screen will explode. It does have a reputation to do that....so don't forget about it in the warm months. 4) .....yeah.....I didn't read 4 until now......I'm going to have to advice you not to get it. If you have to pay for clothes, toothbrushes, and parts for a computer....then just wait till the price for a DS drops again. Save in the mean time and maybe you can reconsider....but as of right now, I don't think there is anyway you can get one without causing yourself to live in a box. Yeah the job sucks and I kinda have to look after myself alot, but that hasn't stopped me from buying games and what not. I get lucky every now and then and pick up part time contracts that pay really good but I only get to work like a week or two. (Last summer I picked up a gig landscaping for 10$ an hour, I worked like 10 hours everyday... it was awesome, easy work too.) Just that no one hires me (I finally got a haircut too, I had hair down like 1/4 of my back.) it's not like I'm a criminal and my resume is somewhat impressive considering I've got alot of work experience for a 15 year old. xD Oh and in Canada DS Lite's are closer to 140$-150$ with games being around 40$-50$ but only because your guys dollar is worth like 20 cents more then ares or something (I should know this stuff the grande ol' US of A is like a half an hour drive from my house.) And I won't live in a box, my room's like a big fridge box with electricity and a bed. But man can I tell ya, we just got a snow storm up here (after having +15 weather all week) and now I have to hike through a couple feet of snow for a measly paycheque, hopefully I get some new shoes by friday. (God I sound so poor lmfao) Title: Re: Next thing to buy the DS? Post by: HeroInAHalfShell on April 12, 2007, 08:01:29 PM dude, the ds is better and cheaper than the psp, gamewise, the only reason i would buy a psp is for games and movies, but im not going to buy one and i would choose a ds over a psp any day. the psp is more fragile than the ds and it's internet sucks. the ds's one will be better cuz u can type. yea man, get a ds.

Negative ghost rider. The PSP games are worse ports than the ones we are getting on the Wii. Movies do look better on the psp's screen though. Having used the psp's browser and the DS Browser, the psp's is much better. I've had too many times the DS hasn't even wanted to load a page, where as the psp has only needed to clear the cache once in a while on huge sites.Title: Re: Next thing to buy the DS? Parents only buy me school uniforms my actual clothes I usually have to buy. Sometimes they help out but I usually buy most of them myself. I don't have to buy toothpaste but I usually gotta buy myself a toothbrush, deodorant, and I just spent all of my savings on a Wii a couple of months ago. Not to mention I just bought new shoes cause mine had holes in em. DDD: Title: Re: Next thing to buy the DS?
