Title: Custom Robo Arena Post by: Puff Daddy on March 27, 2007, 06:23:35 PM Custom Robo Arena is out on the DS. Was wondering if it was worth the $35.
On Gamestop.com, reviews have been great: 4.5/5....many of the reviews seem like they were fans since the Gamecube's Custom Robo game. They say its on the easy side, but it does have online gameplay...however, no one said how good or bad online gamelay exactly is. Everyone tends to agree its fun, customization is great, and its definetly worth it. So has anyone have first-hand experience with the game yet and what do you think about the game? Title: Re: Custom Robo Arena Post by: MysticGohan on March 27, 2007, 06:31:17 PM i read the review and it sounds pretty fun... but i want to get other games and i have a very limited amount of $$$
Title: Re: Custom Robo Arena Post by: SuperTongue on April 04, 2007, 03:51:25 PM I only played the demo of the original, but I thought those few minutes with the original was fun.
I'm hoping to get this, Pokemon, and a few other games, but sadly, as I've said many times before, I'm saving for my 360. I'd also like to know if anyone has played this game, so I hope someone types up something... I really wish someone who actually played the DS version would stumble across this post and rate the game. I'm interested because I really enjoy the concept of the game. Only problem is I don't go online...at least with the DS. Nor do I have any friends with a DS. And online play is what everyone raves about. They say story mode is so-so....so I guess, its not worth it for me. At least right now. Title: Re: Custom Robo Arena Post by: MysticGohan on April 04, 2007, 10:34:29 PM there is a story but i think its not that good btw you can battle random ppl over ds wi-fi and also i heard if you want to get anything out of single player you have to invest time so you get more part to customize your robot dood
Title: Re: Custom Robo Arena Post by: Puff Daddy on April 05, 2007, 09:16:08 AM I can battle random people? Good...thats what I like. I don't they utilize the mic so I can talk trash as well, but I usually leave people wanting to commit suicide after every match. Haha...who woulda guessed that from me?
Well, I know they say you can replay matches and collect more money to get better armor/weapons/etc.....so maybe. I think I'll wait till the school year is over and I'm back at my shit hole job before I really intend to buy this game. I still never played Twilight Princess for the Wii and I would like to pick that up as well.....so we'll see what happens. But it looks like right now, destiny against Custom Robo. Title: Re: Custom Robo Arena Post by: MysticGohan on April 05, 2007, 12:24:39 PM i never played the game but thats all i know about it... if you want to know more read the ign review here is the Link (http://ds.ign.com/articles/774/774039p1.html)
Title: Re: Custom Robo Arena Post by: XLS on April 05, 2007, 12:29:44 PM I have the game and it's pretty good.In my opinion a little weak story wise and the controls are just a tad slippery, but it makes you think about what you're gonna do next. The internet is good too.Pretty much what you would expect;Friend Codes,Rivals, stuff like that.So overall it's a great game and I give it a 4.5/5.
Title: Re: Custom Robo Arena Post by: SuperTongue on April 09, 2007, 09:39:56 PM The game's graphics look... Ok in the videos on IGN, but I could care less about graphics. The gameplay looks fun and energetic, I guess you could say.
The music also seems a tad... annoying during the videos. Title: Re: Custom Robo Arena Post by: XLS on April 09, 2007, 11:08:59 PM The game's graphics look... Oh,yeah,it's VERY annoying,so you should just turn the volume off.The music also seems a tad... annoying during the videos. Title: Re: Custom Robo Arena Post by: Littlelink on April 23, 2007, 04:26:45 PM I heard the battles are only 3 mins long. Is that really true? And is it enough time??

I don't own the game, so this isn't straight from the horse's mouth so to speak. However, the game plays out very arcade like so battles shouldn't be lasting long. Think Power Stone for the Dreamcast or PSP. They say even though battles are short, you can play them over again to earn more money for weapopns/armor/whatever, and on top of that online play is fairly good. Title: Re: Custom Robo Arena Post by: HeroInAHalfShell on May 26, 2007, 12:52:26 AM Yea I own this game and its pretty siick. 3 minutes..no its 2, and its more than enough time, depending on how good u are. its usually enough time to destroy your opponent. Even after the credits, the game still goes on. There a plenty of weapons and robos u can get. im still trying to work my way far enough to buy illegal parts...Cant wait :) :-D :-D

I don't have wifi near me, so single player mode is a big thing to me. Let me know because I am curious in this game and have always liked the idea and style to Custom Robo. Thanks! Yea this is single player...Wifi is 3 minutes, but only some of the story mode battles are timed. this game will keep u busy for a while...dont worry though, the wifi on this game is kind Cooky, u shoot ure opponent and it doesnt respond right away...its laggy is what im sayin...but yea get it, its really fun and u can go 1 on 1 single card connectivity |
