Title: Nintendo Wii Shotgun Information - Post by: FUHNAHTIK on April 11, 2007, 11:02:03 PM Does anyone have any conrete information about the Nintendo Wii Light gun? I have seensketches and prototypes - and apparently Nintendo is making one and Joytech is too. Release date I've seen is April 20th - anything else I missed? I'm super excited about this, but I cannot find anything but rumors, and little concrete information on pricing, release and availability in the US. - Ryan

IF they combine the wiimote and the nunchuck on the lightgun, how will you be able to play games that have you shaking the nunchuck to do things in the game? IF you could plug the regular wiimote into the lightgun as an extension, would you be able to aim with both and aim at two different spots when you play a dual-wield shooting game?

Well the one shown by Nintendo awhile back had the Wiimote directly plugged into the shotgun. The Shotgun also had a control stick on it. So if the design does not change, then this thing will only be for certain games. The one by Joytech, though, is just a shell. You click in your controllers (meaning the Wiimote and Nunchuck). So I wouldn't spend the money on this one because most games that require both controllers would be hard to play with this. You know - just for fun ... LoL
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii Shotgun Information - Post by: Snipes1616 on April 14, 2007, 10:38:14 PM It looks like a fun idea, but will the light gun actually help you play games?
Title: Re: Nintendo Wii Shotgun Information - Post by: FUHNAHTIK on April 15, 2007, 05:20:13 PM I think a actual gun device would help - I get too tired playing red steel (and soon-to-be-more) shooting games unless I lean my arms on something after about 30 mintues. Everyone complains about that when we play - but the shooting games would be more long-lived with a rifle or shotgun device ... just makes sense. Remember that sniper game on Arcade with the long green rifle? Silent Scope I think ... = FUN! - Ryan

Meh, it looks like a cheap piece of plastic to me. That's just my opinion though. Just look at the steering wheel attachment, it isn't necessary to play the racing games, but it helps some and people buy it because it's cool.
