Title: Re:what happened to the forums layout Post by: meridianblade on August 17, 2007, 08:28:19 AM Were using a new system now. The old forum bridge was abandoned by it's developers. I'll add some smilies when I get time.
Title: Re:what happened to the forums layout Post by: SuperTongue on August 17, 2007, 08:29:50 AM You should try to read a little more. We changed to a different forum system, known as FireBoard. The emoticons were changed because the forum was.
I'm not much a fan of this new forum at all because it just seems to cramped together. Title: Re:what happened to the forums layout Post by: Wiirulez on August 17, 2007, 02:13:46 PM I agree with SuperTongue on some level, and rather than an advance it looks a bit like a downgrade. I also noticed a bug that redirects you to the front page every now and then, when you click on a link. Arcade and shop exploded as well.
EDIT: It also looks like we lost our editor/mod powers to control and edit posts. There's no way on Earth to get them to work on FireBoard unless it happens to be connected to SMF in some way.
EDIT: I've also notice something awkward. Click the lower \"My Profile\" link, then go to edit that profile. Look at what you get. Pretty odd, isn't it? Anyway, I agree with WiiRulez that is seems like a downgrade rather than an upgrade. It looks nice and clean Title: Re:what happened to the forums layout Post by: TehTribeDJ on August 18, 2007, 02:55:52 PM Meridian I love what you've done with the place since i've been last here!
They look amazing and also, welcome back me over here! lolz... Title: Re:what happened to the forums layout Post by: meridianblade on August 18, 2007, 04:19:52 PM I explained this before friends, this is the best course for Wii-volution. Sure its a great forum I agree, but not when bridged with Joomla, they just don't play nice. All the bridges for smf-joomla are abandoned meaning that when Joomla's next version is released (or SMF for that matter), then entire forum will break, and the way that the bridge hacks core files in Joomla, the entire site breaks subsequently and thats something I don't have time to deal with. I've had more issues with the forum bridge than anything else on the site. The new forum was up and running in 10 minutes and only has a few small bugs (which can and will be fixed) It is just a much better decision for the website a whole... But im probably the only one that can see that given my position.
Just give it some time guys ok? There's still alot of features that I can add, but being that im in Ontario right now, I don't have much time to do it :P Besides, when have I lead you wrong before? ;) Title: Re:what happened to the forums layout Post by: meridianblade on August 18, 2007, 04:23:05 PM Real quick though, If you see a bug, post it below and i'll get it ironed out. The devs of fireboard are real quick with fixing things. I'll get everyones mod privileges fixed as well.
Title: Re:what happened to the forums layout Post by: SuperTongue on August 18, 2007, 04:39:18 PM Well if you go to edit your profile in the community profile editor, you get a code problem, I guess you could call it.
Everything looks like: _LOL_BUTTON_HERE_ Etc. I haven't checked to see if you fixed it or not because I'm too lazy. Title: Re:what happened to the forums layout Post by: sparkkirby on August 19, 2007, 11:30:51 AM also ive noticed that that the dashboard does not work so you cant use it or the shop
Title: Re:what happened to the forums layout Post by: Wiirulez on August 25, 2007, 03:06:58 AM I dont know if MB fixed this yet, but sometimes, when you click on any given link, it redirects you to the front page.
quick example: 2 minutes ago I clicked the log in button on the forums menu and was redirected to the front page twice. I gave up, and used the login button at the main menu bar with the links to all the major parts of the site. That login worked. |
