Reggie Fils-Aime has recently stated that Nintendo are interested in
adding voice chat to the Wii. Nintendo wouldn't have much of a problem
adding a bluetooth headset as the Wiimote already utilizes the same
wireless technology.

Well you have to know that they said it is a possibility, but not 100% announced. Sure, it is inevitable, but as of now, nothing has been announced about it.

(Maybe we could see a headset at CES?)

When you clicked on the article, did you click the "Comments" link? Perhaps more than once?

Clicking on the comments link automatically creates a post in News Discussion From your User Account quoting the original article. It shouldn't have created more than one post if you only clicked on it once. I cleared up and deleted all the posts except one, so that the topic is open for discussion.

This would be great....as a matter of fact, Nintendo shouldn't even consider it...this is a must.

Who the hell wants to type during an online match? Or see the stupid text bubbles pop up from your SSBB character? I just want to yell obscene language into a microphone while I pummel my opponent with various uppercuts to the nads.

Exactly. If they would get the home menu to actually work like the 360's guide menu, I'd fall in love with the Wii. Private chats + friend invites + everything else from the home menu = gold. Voice chat would be the icing on the cake.

As much as I hate Xbox 360 and Microsoft being in the video game industry....they sure did get the online play right. I think part of that may be because they are a computer company and computer games have been online far longer than video games. And because of that unique experience Microsoft has over Nintendo and Sony, thats why they nailed the online play.

Yeah well...anyways...I'm sure we'll be lucky to get voice chat on the Wii. I was thinking about it, and it seems like it would work out real nice with the blue-tooth technology. Private chats, friend invites, and much of everything else is on my wish list too....but being able to communicate is top priority. And since the Wii doesn't have that yet...then thats the first thing I want before I worry about the rest.
