1  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Re: Are Wii "paranoid" on: February 15, 2007, 05:53:53 PM
Nintendo are going to rape the woman and pillage the village....RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!

Has anybody even downloaded this new channel? You would think that everyone would be excited/interested, but no-one has posted anything on this forum so far to say they download it. I haven't downloaded the new channel myself, not because of any "conspiricy theories", I'm just not interested in a channel that's asks irrelevant questions like "how do you like your eggs, boiled or fried"

If the new channel had a direct mail service to Nintendo so you could let them know what you think of the Wii, good or bad, what games you like or want to see on Wii, what ideas you have for games, new channels and what thoughts/ideas you have for the Wii in general or if Nintendo sent a set of questions to Wii owners every few weeks that was "Wii related" then I would be very interested!

Yeah! That's exactly what I was thinking. It's strange that Nintendo didn't announce anything about this "new" channel before today. I'm sure lots of Wii owners would see it as a nice surprise. And another thing, it seems that all the channel is for, from what I've read, it to ask people irrelevant questions which don't seem to do or add up to anything.

Maybe Nintendo just needed a simple channel they could put together quickly so Wii owners would download the software thinking it was something new and cool but actually it was a "block" on any future modifications made to the Wii?

As I said before in my previous post....ARE WE PARANOID or is there "something" going on here!

I'm sure you have heard of the new Wii channel. But with all these mod-chips appearing for the Wii my first thought was "I wonder if there's more to this channel/download than meets the eye?"

The website I first saw this news on (although I knew already because I received an e-mail from Nintendo) has a reply option and one of the people who replied had the same "thoughts" as me.

Are Wii owner's with the same "thoughts" PARANOID?

5  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Get the COOLEST music on your Wii! on: February 12, 2007, 05:29:43 PM
If you want to listen to some good tunes on your Wii, check out radioblogclub.com. It is now available to use with the Wii Opera browser. I have just been on there and it is AWESOME! I even tried to find Super Mario tunes, and sure enough I got a list including "super mario world" theme tune and "mario 64" theme tune. There's LOADS of other computer game tunes as well as rock, pop, techno, trance, chillout, hip-hop/rap etc, you name it it's on there.

This is THE BEST "wii music" site I've been on....TRUST ME!

The full version of the browser will be available at the end of March (I wish it was sooner) and will be free to download until the end of June.

7  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / This browser is really PISSING ME OFF!!! on: February 12, 2007, 10:34:55 AM
I have just tried to post a message to one of the treads on this site. It took a while, and when I pressed "post" the browser CRASHED! I just thought "NO...NOT AGAIN! Now I have two choices, type the post AGAIN which will waste more time (not that this website is a waste of time) and reduce the battery life in my wiimote even more, or forget about the post, which would still PISS ME OFF because I have a relevant point to make and I like contributing to these forums.

This Opera browser might be the trial or beta version but at the "end of the day" the basic function of the browser should work and whatever functions or tools Opera/wii decide to add in the full version is up to them! When I first got my Wii it was an ABSOLUTE JOY. ALL my problems started the day I download this FUCKING SHIT BROWSER! If I had the money I would be more than happy to go and buy a laptop and if I got my hands on one of the people who designed this browser, I would be more than happy to PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE!!!
8  Nintendo Wii / Wii - General / Re: Wii play DVD's on: February 11, 2007, 06:34:05 PM
That's the point I'm trying to make in the first place. I read, that the DVD play-back software problem has been sorted out and there will be a firmware download. I've heard of coming back to the start but this is pointless! And if you didn't know, alot of Wii games will have a Dolby Pro Logic II soundtrack, that is why the Wii has Dolby Pro Logic II play-back.

As for the Playstation breaking down, that was unfortunate, but it was made/designed to play DVD's and I'm sure if Nintendo designed software for the Wii to play DVD's it would work. It's not like you opened up your Wii and installed a mod-chip yourself and then it didn't work, then you couldn't complain to Nintendo because that's not what they would have wanted Wii owners to do so that would be your fault.

But let's get one thing straight! All I want to do in the first place was post some news that I came across and if there are any Wii owners that don't have a DVD player, they might find it useful.

No, it wouldn't be a waste of memory space because I'm sure most Wii owners DVD player's (unless they have a very good/expensive one) wouldn't have the hardware what the Wii has, so I'm sure Wii owners would see some improvements in picture quality.

The only time you might think of using your existing DVD player is if you want to watch a  DVD that has surround sound, but that's only if you have a surround set-up, if you don't, the added picture quality when using the Wii for DVD play-back wouldn'd be a "waste of memory" but a welcome benefit!

Also, if you really did want surround sound and the DVD you want to watch has a Dolby Pro Logic II sound track, the Wii has Dolby Pro Logic II support so you could still get some sort of surround sound from your Wii.

That may be true for the Wii owners in the US, but I live in the good old UK. Maybe it might just be for the Japan market and/or Europe. If I had read this on the 'net somewhere I might think it was just a rumour, but I read it in a hi-fi/home cinema/gadgets magazine article and you would think a magazine would get it's facts straight before going to print.

Anyway, it's true what you say. Most people (including me) already have a DVD player, but if it is true, I bet you would STILL download the software!

I read in a magazine that Nintendo has sorted out the "issues" or problems with the Wii playing DVD's. Starting sometime in 2007, New Wii's will have the software pre-installed. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF US I here you cry. Don't worry, there will be a firmware download for the "early adopters" like ourselves.

Nintendo hoped the Wii would play DVD's from the start, but Nintendo thought that including the DVD function would exceed their "price point" for the Wii. But thankfully a company (I can't remember the name) has sorted out the software/price. The magazine didn't say if the download would be free or not.

I better be, 'cause I ain't buying!

Hey MysticGohan, welcome to the "my batteries don't last long enough maaan!" club. At the moment I'm using Duracell M3 batteries in my wiimote, but if like me you are using this SHIT OPERA BROWSER WHICH KEEPS ON CRASHING to surf the 'net, websites and have to enlarge web pages all the time, send e-mails and posts etc, you are constantly pressing the buttons and TOTALLY DEPENDANT on the wiimote. Before I downloaded this PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A BROWSER I only used my wiimote to play Wii Sports which has minimal wiimote use so my batteries would last ALOT LONGER!

I will eventually get a battery charge but I was waiting for the "OFFICIAL NINTENDO WII CHARGER". Not that it makes any difference, a battery charger is just a battery charger. But I think having the "OFFICIAL NINTENDO WII CHARGER" is a peace of mind/mental thing.

You get a month's use out of one set of batteries. For a "wii overlord" you don't use your Wii very much.

The sooner I get my hands on a battery charger the better. At the moment I'm mostly using my Wii to surf the net. But because this USELESS OPERA BROWSER keeps CRASHING I have to keep re-typing e-mails, going back to websites etc. plus I have to keep on enlarging the text on most web pages.

I'm getting through a set of batteries about every six to seven days, THAT'S NO JOKE! At this rate it would be cheaper to buy myself a laptop.

OK Psymonstark, you win. So let's "draw a line" under this matter and forget about it.

Peace and love man!
