I've played many pointless games in my time. From the heartfelt adventure with no real purpose of Harvest Moon to the bullet riddled zombie known as Beyond The Grave from Gungrave....yet I have never questioned their existence, because I never cared nor had the time to question their purpose.

However, now is a different time. A time that is being wasted by writing this meaningless post about what I assume to be a meaningless game, Animal Crossing. There's a neighborhood full of retarded looking animals with oversized heads and a dimple on both cheek for an extra shot of cute, and then theirs you. So...my question is: what's the point?

Since I'm pressed for time, posts are going to be summaries of what the game is about and why its so fun. Bonus points to those who can sum the whole thing up in 3 words or less, anything more is unnacceptable --- seeing as I work 40+ hour weeks and am accumulating a debt of sleep, if I see a paragraph (much like my own, in fact as of now, I am in a deep sleep and just sleep typing....you know, kind of like when you were 5 years old and slept walk to the closet and pissed all over your pop's shoes....yeah like that but typing) more than three words I will fall into a deep slumber.

It is Nintendo's Sims: much more funny, much more enjoyable, much more..."Nintendive".

It isn't a game that will write history but it is good to spend your free time. Like in nights when you get to bed and want to do something before you sleep...

I love Animal Crossing it was the main reason I wanted a DS. WiiConnect24 should make the Wii version of AC interesting. I like the idea that there could be new furniture updates sent across it while you aren't even playing that and sending letters to friends from your own town.

And you have the added bonus of real axe and net swinging with the Wii controller!

Okay...so Animal Crossing is the charmful animal cousin to the Sims.

I always enjoyed the Sims, especially the newest Sims 2 that is out. My brother is addicted to it. But thanks for all of your input on what Animal Crossing is. I never played it. I suppose you could say I am deprived.

And the way you guys make the game sound with the ability to go online only makes me more curious to check out exactly what it is. I'll probably do some research on it. But seeing as the announcement of AC on the Wii is still new, the information is probably limited. Once again, thanks to everyone!

Aren't there any shops that give you the chance to try a game before buying it?

Animal Crossing is like marmite. You eiher love it or hate it. Simple as that. Some people cherish every cutesy second of it, whereas others will get bored of it in a couple of minutes or so.

I have come up with a rather neat(if not quite obvious) idea. What if you could download different content, like more Mr. Resetti rants? Just imagine how great this would work with the Wii's ability to recieve various game content. You could download birthday reminders as well, so that you know when to start buying gifts for people. Perhaps you can even increase the size of your town, and open up your own little shop. The possibilties are endless! What are you lot's take on this idea?

Animal Crossing can even become Nintendo's first MMOG! Lots of Animal Crossing Countries, lots of towns, lots of people/animals. You could be a fisher, a bug catcher, a gardener, that would rock!

P.S: I have a sick neighboor in my AC:WW game, is there any chance he dies?

That's right, I didn't think about that. Animal Crossing probably will be Nintendo's first MMOG. Hopefully it won't be the last. *imagines MMORPG Pokemon*

I don't think he can die, he just won't walk around outside his house for awhile. Give him medicine from Nook's store. You'll need like 3 of them to make them better. They normally give you a gift.

MMO Pokemon would definitely kick some major butt. I've had another idea about that series, too, though: Pokemon Tactics. The ranges of attacks and speed stats actually would matter in this game!
