Never heard of getting Wii-elbow. I get as my bro calls it "Wii-arm" my arm was hurting last Monday. My bro said it was from playing too much Wii. But it was just sore from laying on it in my sleep.

I think I would call that being out of shape :-) Even if your fit holding your arm out and swinging it every which way for a long time is going to work muscles that aren't usually worked. Im sure once everyone plays it for a month or two the pain will go away.

It can't be anything that serious, unless you swing the Wii-mote like Conan and his sword or something for hour after hour. The DS sometimes gives me a numbing feeling in my hand, I'm normally led down when I play, playing games like Mario Kart DS and Metroid Prime: Hunters, just take a break and go back.

Just during the loading screens, relax your arm on something like a chair arm. It may be only for a minute, but do it every time it should help. :wink:

I contacted a proffesional Gymnest about any tips for us Wii-Players.
A few things he recommends;
1.) "It's good to stretch out before doing any physical activity that would pull a muscle."
2.) "To avoid cramping or sore arms, take a break every hour or two."
3.) "Switch arms frequently."
He also mentioned a few good facts;
1.) "You have no excuse not to play the Wii, It's a good source of energy that the casual gamer needs."
2.) "It's best to exercize doing the things you enjoy most, the outcome is better, and time flies by."

....strangely enough I've been told this advice for a different type of activity.

I'm sorry but even being in shape you can get it. I'm a vet. and when I was in active duty, working more than half of the hours in a day, I was fit. I remember once I pushed myself and got horrible pains in my elbows. Now being sterio-typical about gamers not being fit, I could see these people playing the Wii hours on end hardly taking a break with these same people flinging their Wii Remotes into their $3,000 tv's.

I would agree with that but I would say people that are in shape would get it less and people that are out of shape (quite a few gamers) could get it even in a half hour.

It's sort of like the Nintendo Thumb from way back when the NES came out. Anyone remember that? People complaining about their thumbs hurting after playing for a long time and they called it Nintendo thumb.
