USB needs to reconnect everytime?
«
on:
December 03, 2006, 09:45:28 AM »
I recently bought the wifi connector from nintendo for my wii, and ds. I have the latest update for it as well. It seems though everytime I shutdown my computer, the connection is broken between the two for good, and I need to either reinstall the connector again, or clear my internet settings on my wii, and search for the connector again everytime I shut down. Can anyone help with this plz???

This is what happens. When your computer shuts down the USB or router shuts down as well. I don't remember how to fix this, but try asking a friend to help.

Gee, thanks for the advice...but I gotta pay the hydro bill, and leaving things off when not in use = more money to be spent on other things, like games....

translation: Gee, I never thought of that, being that i was too wrapped up in bitching about the thing. I guess to hide my shame I'll call this guy an idiot.

I would hardly call it bitching, as I was just making people aware of my problem, and in no way did I whine about it. You simply just told me what I have been doing, which is my problem in the first place...idiot. And I guess it didn't show, but when I said "gee" it was meant to be sarcastic.

if you've been doing it the whole time, then why do you care? the obvious answer would be that you just dont wanna wait, to which i respond, get over it! and you want to "make people aware of you're problem"? since when do people care about somebody's trivial problem thats not really a problem at all? a problem is when something just doesn't work, and as far as i can tell from hat you've posted, the thing still works. oh, and one more thing. if you really want a solution to you're problem, there's a little thing called a SEARCH ENGINE. you know, where you can search for thing, say a troubleshooting guide, oh, i dont know, maybe a tutorial on how to use the thing. try that next time, smartness.

i rarely have to reconnect using the wi fi usb connector. when i first turn on my comp it may have a hard time connecting at first but usually if i turn on my wii or let it wait long enough it will work, also when you get it connected make sure you go under the connection settings for the first connection you set up and make sure you select use this connection.

It appears that you cared enough to reply...Why do you care so much to write something back everytime I call you an idiot?...idiot... How is having to set up an internet connection everytime you turn something off, and on not a problem? I'm sure if you had to do it for your computer everytime you turned it on, you would have some complaints...and its not like I turn it on, and wait for it to connect, which is what you seem to think my problem is...("you just dont wanna wait, to which i respond, get over it!") I'm not an idiot either, I have looked for a solution before posting on here...not only have I searched from google, I have gone through the nintendo site, it's wi-fi site, and the faq/troubleshooting message boards. I was right to call you an idiot...your ignorance clearly shows that you are, as you have been ranting about things that I have already done...Clearly I have pushed a button here, and you have become extremely angry at a stranger who not only is faceless, but you will never meet, or deal with outside of this forum...Do I sense some anger issues? I only called you an idiot, as thats what I found to be an appropriate thing to say in regards to your foolish answer...I am deeply sorry for causing your sudden outburst of anger, and this will be my last post directed at you, or what has happend. You do give me a good chuckle though.
