Ok, I might be completely wrong here, but it appears to be true that the Wii can grab photos from a bluetooth enabled cellphone and it seems that bluetooth hard drives are not too far into the future, or already available, so wouldn't it be possible to use one of these hard drives for the Wii. I don't know what the use would be, except for movies  :-D, but it would be awesome just to have a hard drive that could hook up to the wii wirelessly and it doesn't appear as if nintendo is going to use their usb ports anytime soon.

BT harddrive?  Gross.  What would that thing need for batteries?  4 D cells or something?  I don't see anyone making a BT hard drive any time soon.  It doesn't make sense.  If you have a hard drive, you're going to put a cable in it.  The transfer speeds for BT don't justify having that sort of storage medium, besides the major moving parts.

BT chargable flash media maybe, but hard drives... doesn't make any sense.

well, a quick google search reveals that there are BT hard drives on the market, but again, there's absolutely no reason to spend $400 on a 5 gig drive when you could get an 8 gig SD card for $120 and forgo the issues with battery life and wireless profiles.

Um... heh.

Bluetooths max operational speed is 3 Mbps with a range of about 10 meters. Then you take in account that 3 Mbps is a theoretical maximum speed 802.15.1 supports (off the top of my head, correct me if that's the wrong standard number.) You more likely to get not even 1 to 1.5 Mbps over bluetooth.

1.5 Mbps = 187.5 KB/sec (cell phones, VoIP, etc only)

Normal ATA HDD's can burst 100 MB/sec... do the math.

Are you kidding me? BT Hard Drives? lols.

Not saying it makes since, just that it's possible. Not like nintendo is giving many other options.

True, I just think a USB based HDD would be a better option :-)
