I was wondering if maybe we could have a sticky dedicated to cataloguing each of the games out in the market for the DS, with their release dates and their avg costs according to different websites (in different areas of the world, of course - US, UK, Asia, etc). Then I guess the rest of the thread would be for people to comment about what they thought about each game, if they've played it. I'd totally be willing to help out with the research if need be, but I don't know where to start.

I'm mainly thinking this up because I want to get myself one(1) DS game for christmas, and I can't choose.

Ok, here's what I've come up with, based on Nintendo's website, I assume for the US. If you have any suggestions for places I can use for info, or ways I can better organize this, let me know:

Legend: Sports, Action, Adventure, RPG, SimulationArcade, Card/Board Games, First-Person, Misc, Other, Strategy/Puzzles

-damn-

I'd like to see this idea put into works for Wivo, but after Wivo gets its Wii review/preview and rating system down and straight for the Wii games (and maybe we could also rate Wii accesories as well). After that, then expanding the site over to Nintendo's handheld console would be the next logical stage....so what you are getting at is a good move. But for now, I say Wivo concentrates on its own Wii review/preview/rate before the DS. But till then.....

1) Tell us the games you were thinking about and maybe I or someone else can help you

2) Keep expanding on your idea, i love the color coded idea. However, I'm sure links could be seperate them as well into their respective categories (i.e. Sports, Action, Adventure, etc.). Keep posting your ideas and who knows? Maybe sometime soon we'll have a Wiivo section that review/pre/rates DS games.

gamefaqs keeps a pretty active database of all games released for every system.  The DS list is here:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/ds/

If the game has a release date you can see what it is by clicking on the title.  Be sure to notice the categories underneath the alpha list.

Right now there are approximately 774 releases for the DS, including all cross regional releases (so there are sometimes three releases of the same game, each one gets counted in that number).

I could see Wii-vo starting a Wii game database like this one, but to get the DS catalog when it's already quite large would be quite an undertaking.  Not as bad as the GBA though, as that now has something around 2637 releases.

IRT #7:

Yeah, so does Nintendo, for every game out on its systems. I might even go as far as to say that there are lot more options to filter the games through, so if you're looking for a game with certain multiplayer facilities, or something, then you can do that, whereas it doesn't look like you can do that for anything other than maybe title and category in the gamefaqs one. I'm basically transposing it to the forum so that people can have something to look at and discuss about rather than having to leave the source to talk about it.

IRT#6:

I don't know how to work the Wiivo section. e.e; I was looking for something with wifi so I could play it with my friends, but I'm so clueless as to what games are out now. This huge list that isn't even halfway done has surprised me.
