So, there's apparently a sort of toggle crouch in the game now, which might be neat if they make stages where it'll be useful, or possibly against ranged spammers, but what sounds really neat to me is the possibility of samus being able to go around in the morph ball, instead of just using it for dodges, etc.

Also some possible character ideas, Zero (from mega man X) would be really easy to convert into melee. Although, two of three third party characters being megaman related would be a bit much. And how about a team character(like ice climbers) that would actually do team type attacks, such as throwing one another at an enemy or swinging the secondary character as a melee weapon, but having a weaker moveset once the other character is gone. That sounds better to me than the ice climbers, who are just two characters doing the exact same thing next to each other. Maybe that'd be hard to pull off, if they aren't already secretly planning something like that with Diddy/Daisy Kong.
