Business-wise, Microsoft's LIVE service has been a big success.  They've proven that they can charge per month for an online service catering to console gamers...who knew that would take off?  I wouldn't be surprised to see a subscription model similar to theirs show up for the Wii.  Although I suspect it will be less expensive and most likely the games that use it will come with a set number of month's worth of use for free.  Smiley    I hope, at least.  Tongue

I hope the Wii's online feature will be free. PS2's was free, but it was crap. Xbox cost money and it was great. But the thing with Nintendo is that it thinks of the future.

I hope they keep it free. It is only a game. And its always fun to play with others, and I shouldn't be charged to play with others or to make friends. I believe paying to have a "friendship" with someone is called prostitution.

I want it F-R-E-E. The DS has WiFi connection, and thats free. Why not cram that into the Wii? If it can fit in my pocket, I'm sure it can fit into the Wii....

Nah... Ask Sega for advices, no matter Dreamcast had a different system. I am sure both Ninty and Microsoft know Sony lost this game so they are aware that the enemy is each other.t

I think we can't just count out Sony right now, because Microsoft and Sony are what appeals to America as of now. Sony appeals to the world more so the Microsoft at this moment, because of the failures of the beginning days of Xbox. However, Microsoft has cleaned up and it will be a serious contender in the next year.

I won't count out Sony, because for a long time they had the 'boomerang' controller, but changed it at E3 when they realesed the final controller which will (like the Wii-mote) sense motion, but only forward, back, up, down, left, right. But due to this added feature, they removed the rumble feature in the controller which I see as a downner because that little rumble often serves a large purpose in most games. Sony didn't do well at E3, but that just be a sign for the PS3 to change more and many people have complained of the price, but I still see people reserving PS3s at EB. So there is a possibility to change, Sony does listen. But Sony is also relying on UMDs becoming popular --- and if they do not, then good bye PS3.

At E3, Nintendo was marvelous and I think it built a lot of good hype up. Hardcore gamers and loyal nintendo fans are looking forward to it, but the Wii still has a lot to prove since its appearance in not traditional and to many, it is very unorthodox to use a tv remote controller as the game console's controller.

Only the future will tell...but right now, Nintendo has beaten PS3 at E3. And some may argue outdid Xbox 360 as well, but I know a lot of kids who love their 360 and are spreading the news...while I tell them I'm going to buy a Wii, and they just look at me with a blank face, blink their eyes several times, and break out into laughter at my 'stupidity.'

Nintendo needs to earn back its reputation. Hopefully, the Wii can do it for Nintendo.
