This thread discusses the Content article:
Nintendo Explains Smash Bros. Brawl Delay
If only the delay was to update the game to work with a new Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection without friend codes. And to work with a headset. And to actually track stats.

Nintendo's explanation reeks of bull crap.
C'mon. Its Super Smash Brothers Brawl. An established fighter with so many first person fighters (and now third person fighters including Sonic and Solid Snake) that it makes fanboys blow their load. This game will sell. I'd much rather hear from Nintendo that they included Sonic in at the last second and had to push back the whole project or something down that lines - not that they're thinking about marketing.
And I too wish we could talk over Wifi and play with no stipulations on friendcodes. However, Nintendo is over protective of that.
Anyone hear of the Animal Crossing MMO? That sounds great too, but it sounds untrue because of Nintendo being overly protective of its younger players. Yeah well...guess we'll just have to wait to see what Nintendo does decide to give us.

And all it would take is some programming and the send out of a Wii Menu update... If only the Big N could figure that their hardcore audience
actually
doesn't want friend codes.

I agree with PD, which is probably a first. Well, anyway, they shouldnt have given us hope for Dec. 3 if they're just going to push it back that far...
Well at least I can enjoy Galaxy in 6 days.

Yup. 6 days for galaxy and i still haven't preordered.
Well, hopefully i can. At least brawl wasn't delayed as long as TP. And now it comes out a bit before my birthday, so I can still get it. But we all want a better brawl, so maybe Nintendo will update some other things as well.
