Got ya....
The only thing I could think of with preordering from a Gamestop was something stupid like a keychain. I think with Super Mario Galaxy, you got a stupid gold coin with a star on the front of it. But yeah, I can see the benefits of preordering for things like that.
But for whatever reason, I'm just not interested in that other stuff. Although, many of the games that offer these "bonuses," are also the games I'm not interested to begin with. A friend left me play Guild Wars off his account...that was fun, but it gets old rather fast. I find more interest in Runescape than Guild Wars for some reason. And Burnout is a racing games. Racing games aren't worth $50 to me....I play them, get to a certain spot where it gets real hard, stop, and never touch the game again. Yeah well...guess one day I'll learn, when I'm buying SSBB and some guy comes a knocking with his gun on my car's driverside window, as he politely gestures for my game.

Should try NFS:Carbon it doesn't get hard until the last race
least you could say you finished it hehe
I have to agree with GW but you have to give it time. It took me 2 months to actually get into, other than that I would play it for an hour at most and be bored lifeless. But somewhere along the line a switch flicked and now I've played it over 3000 hours and own every expansion and have one of every character
its just one of those games, not your traditional RPG which is addictive straight away because its basically virtual crack, but GW keeps me coming back just because its a good game and great to play. No addiction, no uber drops which need to be found to finish or get anywhere... its an MMO that has something for casual players and hardcore players alike. The only thing I got out of earning 1.5m gold was pretty looking armor and weapons. Someone with no money could get the same damage and stats from a collector without spending anything, just collecting some monster drops. Thats why its a great game, even casuals can mix it with the best.

I know Guild Wars is a nice game. And I'm sure GW2 will be even better. My problem with GW is that it gets boring because after some point, its all the same. Have they even broken the lvl 20 barrier yet? On top of that, the story is bland and just doesn't interest me. And like you said, casuals can get into it. And I don't mind if they do. But let me, someone, or anyone who wants to get better than everyone else do that. GW is like the communist economic system....everything is dictated by the state so that everyone gets the same benefits.
But I do know the PVP is fun in there. Thats all I played when I did play. My name was Major Blue Balls. I was a warrior/mesmer. People would laugh at me. Until they realized that if they charged me (like most idiots do), I'd hit them with various degeneration spells (I think one would poison them, and another to slow them down so they couldn't run away as easily) and then cut them so they would bleed and use an attack that would double if they were bleeding. Presto! Instant death. Thats the neat thing about GW is the classes and PVP.
But....couldn't get into it. Got old fast. Plus, the new ones they added....the dervish and what was the other fruity one.....yeah, those two classes were dumb. GW2 should be better....at least in theory, it should be much better. Like the GTA of MMOs.

Lmao yes you are right there GW is pretty much gaming communism but hey I play it because I like it
I'm glad to find an MMO that isn't about grinding and addiction, its just fun. I do understand the many people saying they can't get into it.. some do some don't. Its always weird when some new person signs up to GWRealm and says "wow I just started and im already sooo addicted" I just don't get it! A lot of people are not that happy about GW2 because it sounds too much like WoW and the people who play GW don't want that, if they did they would play WoW!?
I'm skeptical about some things but I choose to give them the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure they know competing with WoW would be dumb. The level 20 cap which is reached relatively early on (depending on the game) was put in place so the game would rely more on the players skill than level and gear. Once you're 20 its all up to you to make the best out of the combination of ...buggered if I know how many skills now... theres so many combinations and nothing is locked in so you can do what you want. No need to grind your way to some unattainably high level. If you wish to be better than other players... well its probably pretty obvious to a lot of others that I'm doing quite well for myself in the game if they look at what my characters are wearing... and that theres 12 of them all wearing it. Then theres titles, they're pure showoff value. And getting them is a daunting task at times. None of the things you get to show off are luck though, you don't get some super drop you can lord over everyone else, you earn it. If you want to be better you have to work for it.
But hey I'm pretty biased when it comes to GW

I can answer you why I, personally, would never play WoW and the reason why so many people play Guild Wars to being with: its free.
I don't beleive in paying monthly for a game. I don't think its right. Its a game. It should be enjoyable. Now, since I know monthyl payments is slowly becoming more acceptable and probably will become part of gaming altogether....I will say the small payments are better. Like the $50 for Xbox Live. But WoW is what? $12 for a month. For the year....$144, almost three times Xbox Live...and only for one game. Live is for all games.
Much of what you say in the bottom half of the lvl cap and combinations is what makes the PVP great. And I have no problem in that. Maybe even WoW should impliment an arena where you can go and lvls would be equaled so that it becomes a whole new game. But really? After awhile of the same thing, the same lvl, and the same skills.....it gets old. Like I said, I was a warrior/mesmer just to mix things up. It worked for me but I was laughed at a lot. Whats the point of all these crazy combination and practically endless skill system...when so many people constrain themselves to the BTDT (been there, done that) form?

Games are full of uncreative douchebags so they often stick to cookie cutter builds. It happens in all RPG's. And yeah I wouldn't play WoW just because it costs money monthly. Its not a problem because I can't afford it, its a principle thing. That and after D2 I hated Blizzard.
I don't play GW because its free, so are all my FPS. But if it WASN'T free. I wouldn't play it either. It can be as good as it wants to be but until it starts making me coffee's and giving me massages I'm not going to pay a monthly fee for a game..
