As for any console, there is a summer drought of games. So, to start up a bit of a conversation, I was wondering what games would you like to see on the Nintendo Wii? Do you want a remake of something from another console? Or something completely new?

I personally fell in love with Jet Grind Radio back on the Dreamcast. And I think it would work perfectly on the Wii. Seeing as Sega is now third party and the cult follwoing Jet Grind Radio has, I figure why not? I hate games that are whored out to the max (I feel that many of Nintendo's main staple franchise have experienced this) but I feel that Jet Grind Radio has another bullet in the chamber to be a great game on Nintendo's newest console complete with wiimote motions for the graffiti.

Chu Chu Rocket might be interesting on the Wii as well. Maybe more as Wiiware though. Something that you could download for a few bucks.

I think I'm just missing out on my Dreamcast days. But that reminds me, Crazy Taxi or even maybe a Speed Racer game would be great on the Wii. Hold the remote on its side and then use the d-pad for specials (such in Speed Racer to jump, shoot missiles, saws out of the wheel, etc.) and the 1 and 2 buttons for brake and gas. Oh man, someone better hire me now because my brain is boiling over with ideas. I even thought of this one game with a fish, a vinyl record, and disc jockey shrimp...but thats a whole 'nother thang.

[Random Return] Hola!

Since I haven't appeared here lately, it might as well be here! [/Random Return]

On topic: I'd love to see Animal Crossing hit this summer, but sadly it most likely won't. Unless they pull a StarFox DS on us and have it finished at E3...

It also would be nice to get a better online experience. With the new PS3 Home and the current LIVE systems, Nintendo better get their foot in the door soon or they'll never catch up with Sony or Microsoft in terms of online services.

As for actual games, I'd like to see a GTA game hit the Wii. I liked The Godfather on the Wii, which could be extremely similar to any GTA game. Also, The Orange Box would be a great fit for the system. It is fully capable of current Source Engine graphics, including TF2 and Episode 2. It would be amazing if they could do cross platform for that....

Even CSS would work great on the system. Of course, friend codes would have to go out the door or VALVe could incorporate their "Steam" service with the games. Ah well, I'd rather not continue to get my hopes up, so I'll stop their and quietly wait out Cloverfield on DVD, GTA IV, and Mario Kart Wii.  Wink

I hope they make Animal Crossing online....and try to limit the use of friend codes or just manage to demolish them altogether. I don't understand how Nintendo hasn't heard all the criticism its been getting over its horrible online service. Maybe they need to start charging like Xbox Live in order to make it better? But then again, PS3's network is pretty good. I've been playing COD4 lately on there and it works like a charm. Whatever, Nintendo still needs to get that crap figured out.

I was never a Starfox fan. Mostly because Nintendo was always the rival console for me until the Wii. So I don't really care for the Starfox franchise, however there is this one RPG that is intriguing and coming to the DS April 22nd. Its called "The World Ends With You." You control two characters at the same time during battles. One uses the d-pad, the other uses the stylus. It sounds pretty wild and the graphics vaguely remind me of Jet Grind Radio.

I believe The Godfather is on the Wii already. The Godfather: Backhand Edition, and it only costs $30 now. I know MB use to rave about how much he loved the game a while back.

And the Orange Box...aw yes....a lot of people think Portal would be perfect for the Wii. I don't touch computer games. Never got into that. But if they come out on console, I think Portal would be the first I would like to try. But it be close between that and TF2 - I just like the way the game looks.

I kind of want to see how Boom Blox turns out on the Wii, but I think its going to be strictly rental at first. Another game I'd like to see on the Wii - Chromehounds, or some mecha game. I think using the Wiimote and nunchuk as ways to steer or control the machine would be great. Hell, I just remembered those arcade podracer games for Star Wars. That would be perfect on the Wii. Hopefully, Lucasarts is thinking the same thing too.

Well by "pull a StarFox DS on us" I meant that they'd have Animal Crossing near finished at E3 this year. They announced SFDS at E3 in, what, 2006? Well that exact same E3 also had finished builds of the game. Talk about secretive?

As for the Godfather, I do own it. Like I said, it is a pretty good game and I found myself playing it a lot.

As for new games, I'd like to see a Burnout game on the Wii. Paradise was pretty darn fun, and it'd be cool to see it. Then again, the online is a major part of the game, so the Big N's online system would have to be revamped first...

As for TF2 on the Wii, it would be a one-shot release. Since Nintendo doesn't seem to like companies "updating" their games, VALVe wouldn't be able to supply Wii players with new content, such as new maps. The 360 has already seen this since it takes nearly 3 weeks to get an update approved by Microsoft to go on LIVE. VALVe seems to have stopped supporting it (sure, the 360 gets some bug fix updates and such) considering the new map Badlands was released in February on PC and has yet to hit 360. But enough of that...

Computer games are fantastic - if you're willing to pay the prices. Almost all online games are free of charge with great networks. VALVe's Steam service is fantastic, with new achievements and all other XBL-like features. (Why can't Nintendo just to that already?) But then comes the price of upgrading your PC every few years to keep up with the pace of things. New things always emerge for the PC (quad-core systems, new 9000 series video cards by NVidia), even MS's LIVE has hit PC. But that price comes with the idea knowing you will rarely, if at all, hear a whiney little 10 year old screaming into his headset after being killed like what XBL is plagued with.

Arg, damn tangents....

Alrighty: On topic: Boom Blox is... meh. For some odd reason, I'm looking forward to Wii Fit. Dunno why, of course, but it looks fun. Mario Kart Wii also hits next week. Received an 8.5 on IGN.

I was excited for WiiFit, but it seems it will be coming out a little more expensive than I originally thought. Plus, I'd like to see what other games come out for it before I actually get it. WeSki looks fun, but what else will justify my purchase of WiiFit?

The reason I'm interested in Boom Blox isn't because of its replay value...I'm sure it lacks that entirely, unless you play it with a friend...but I'm interested in it because it is a new idea. And thats something that has been lacking on all three consoles as of lately.

I'd like to see an MMORPG personally Smiley they don't need good graphics to be really good and the Wii has great controls for an RPG especially a non turn-based one!

But what I've been wanting to see since the N64 days is a full 3D Pokemon game (as in one of the GBA games but 3D). Hell why not mix the two, make the full 3D Pokemon game an MMO Cheesy that would be jizztastic!
