Nintendo is very secretive, we all know that, but you figure that they would keep their third party developers in the know. You would figure wrong. Nintendo never told third parties about the upcoming MotionPlus and has left then in the dark. This means that you shouldn't expect any games based on the new attachment until a bit later after it has been released. This is a bit disapointing. It's going to leave us with the decision on whether or not we want to drop the coin for an attachment for one game--which is currently the Wii Sports Resort game.
GameInformer talked to several third party developers and it's clear they weren't told anything until everyone else way.
We
asked several third-party Wii developers about the Wii MotionPlus, and
the general feeling was one of annoyance and betrayal. None of them
said they had any advance notice about the peripheral, and we were told
that they were as surprised as everyone else when Nintendo revealed its
existence on stage. That lack of prior notice means that, aside from
Nintendo’s own roster of games, users won’t likely see any support for
the device for at least six to nine months. The developers we spoke to
said they hadn’t received any information from Nintendo about how to
implement Wii MotionPlus into their upcoming projects, and they also
expressed doubt that they would be able to incorporate it into games
that are currently deep in development.
Nintendo has a bad track record with third party developers and you can add this one to the list. Come on Nintendo, get with it.
